Navy Boot camp @ Great Lakes was a joke. Easy as hell. I went into the NAVY during Vietnam. After bootcamp I went to School A school at Great Lakes. I ended out becoming a SEAL . Which was extremely difficult in both training on both the body and mind. I was in great shape and It still was difficult. The mental aspect is just pushing yourself, never give up, always try to do better than you did before. Help any person who maybe having a difficult time esp mentally. Physically, try and talk to them when a chance arrives without causing yourself problems. Many times you are trying to encourage a man next to you who maybe struggling, and you may get your ass chewed out. But you are actually being watching on everything you do. Not just in the training, but also demonstrating leadership by helping a fellow trainee. As a SEAL you need to work closely with each other, it is the most important aspect of training. Being a recruit still try to have the mind set of pushing yourself first and then helping others. Each person has different strengths and weaknesses. Learning to help each other to strive to do better goes along way, but it's still up to the individual on what they want. You need to learn to push yourselve harder and further at every moment. I suggest if your going into the military to walk and run to strengthen your feet, legs but endurance. Do sprints. Also work on core and upper body strength. Do not go in over weight. If you are over weight, don't lose weight buy changing eating habits, you also need to exercise to gain muscle mass. You don't need to be extra muscular. Be able to do it least 20 pushups, always strive for 1 or 2 more reps. Do jumping Jack's, squat thrust, crunches. Do hand grip exercises also. Preparing yourself physically will also help you mentally. A good recruiter will help you and explain everything you need to know and answer all questions honestly. Not all recruiters are honest about enlistment, some are just trying to reach a recruitment quota. Always ask questions and as many as you feel is necessary. Ask a person who is in the military or Vet questions. Ask someone you may know to go with you to the recruiters office when talking to them about enlisting. Bootcamp is easy. Just listen, do what your told and without questions, unless they ask ,are there any questions. Bootcamp was so much different than it is today from when I enlisted, it is more relaxed LOL. Follow directions, don't complain, push yourself to be better each time a task is given. Try to help other when possible. There will be difficult recruits who may continue to cause problems or fall short of what is expected of them . If they continue not to help themselves, let it go. If you need help don't be afraid to ask others. There is going to be times of stress, you may not care for a particular person or each other. I guarantee at the end you all will be sisters and brothers. Good luck to all. 🇺🇸

It depends on the results you got at your appointment. I was sent to a civilian doctor from MEPS for a consultation, my results came back in about 2 weeks! You shouldn’t need another consult if they have all the info they need, best of luck!

Wait, so for the run, the requirement is something like 1.5mi in 13 minutes. But it's measured with a pacer test running back and forth between cones? How does that work? How does it convert?

Depends on your age but the youngest category is a 14:45, if you don’t make it you get rolled back in bootcamp so you stay until you can or they kick you out. Only way to really get better at running is to run and controlling your breathing

I mean the only thing I would say would probably be like some algebra 2, some basic trigonometry, and I think you’ll be good. Until you know what rate you’ll be, it’s a little hard to figure out what I could realistically recommend! But all rates start with math, so math math math!

I was the first one to volunteer and I didn’t really have any clue what I was doing other than being yelled at then relaying orders. I didn’t enjoy being responsible for all the stupid stuff my division did, and I was fired for not being on time after doing something I was told to do haha, if you want to do it you just need to be confident in everything you do
