This is especially relevant with temu now where you literally play games to get "free stuff" but you have to log on daily to get it, so you end up eventually seeing something you want when the algorithms and you end up spending money. I dont think fast fashion has ever appealed to me because i love sewing and have very specific requirements for my clothes so modifying/mending them makes them nicer and more comfy over time(making new clothes much less appealing), but I definitely got sucked in for art supplies/kitchen supplies. I know fashion is different, but its like they're trying to fast-fashion _everything_

Mark February 2024 as the highest global temperature in history of at least 1.7 Celsius or higher. That’s right, I’m telling you SIX MONTHS in advance. And I want you to “Hope” it won’t be. You can ask me next March how I knew. Environmental Doomer’s tend to share the same beliefs of the activist of the 1960’s-1970’s rather than today’s so called environmentalists who’s awareness stops at, “Oil bad. Green good.” *Environmentalists used to say* "This planet has limited resources and will NOT sustain our modern lifestyles forever. There will be consequences!" *Environmentalists of today say* "This planet can provide _UNLIMITED_ resources, if we just manufacture a new power source to use." The two following stories are recent examples of why Doomer’s sometimes shake their head. 1- "Indonesia about to build several BRAND NEW *coal-fired power plants* to build EV batteries!" 2 "Four Companies to sign contracts in 2024 for the rites to Till, Crush, and Grind the entire Sea Floor from Mexico to Hawaii to acquire lithium for green energy! (expected to cause loss in marine life and negatively affect the migration of species including four shark types and one whale type by a variety of hostile and destructive methods these companies will be using.) It's funny how these stories make Doomer's shake their head and bother them. I wonder why that is? I’ve noticed that many Doomer’s seemed to be more educated on climate change. The most knowledgeable about what climatologists say and up to date with peer reviewed studies regarding the current state of Earth’s biosphere and ecosystems. Our planet does not recognize or react to “hope”. Our planet reacts to cause and effect. And I’ve been following this topic since the late 1970’s. The Doomer’s seem to offer the strongest ideas for action that I have come across. Doomer’s are as misunderstood as every other minority group. They are a well informed and knowledgeable group that will continues to grow as global temperature rises. There will become a time when they are no longer treated as a minority whose values should be brushed off, unheard, and undervalued. Don’t be poo poo heads and poo poo a group you cannot relate to because they seem foreign to you. Especially if you do not know the language they use, who their peers are, and if you don’t understand climate science. Thank you for showing an interest in Climate Change and the rapid rise to 2.5 Celsius world.

The irony of having a temu advertisement throughout this video 😢
@consciouslifeandstyle

that is horribly ironic 😥 also I haven't even turned ads on and I'm not making any money from ads, so that's frustrating that KZfaq still shows ads on my videos, especially ones like that... !!

So many great takeaways in this episode - I'm going to have to watch it again and take notes! I do love the emphasis on a goal of a closet clean-out to be finding ways to style unworn pieces so they do get worn and enjoyed.

Saying fast fashion is relative makes sew much sense! I'm definitely using this term on my next blog entry 😅

Modest dresses are still NOT inclusive, even on Queenly! that's why I'm creating a clothing line for the modest modern women 🙂

Great, insightful interview. I’m a big fan of Lily’s. Well done to you both! Any thoughts on thrifting hauls?

I'm a big fan of Lily's too! personally I don't like thrift hauls as they still glamorize overconsumption and buying as a form of entertainment, rather than buying what we actually will wear and use. though of course they don't perpetuate overproduction in the same way as fast fashion hauls, so it's a gray area. but personally, I'm not into thrift hauls.

I have been following Alyssa for a long time. She is a treasure. Elizabeth, you did a great job in interviewing her. One tip, if I may: since you were discussing such a visual topic, clips or pictures might have helped to illustrate Alyssa's ideas. I followed along easily, but I suspect that others might be baffled by the various concepts. Cheers.

thank you Karon! yes that's a great idea to add visual clips/pictures throughout the interview. I'm a very novice video editor lol but as I get more knowledgeable and experienced with video editing, I will work on integrating that!
