Great video! Not sure if you are aware or not, if you hold Function while adjusting slice start and end, it will snap to zero crossing.

I actually started my midi goblin project as a way to save patches for the reface cs. Its probably my favorite synth ever. I love being able to just turn it on and play and it sounds so dang good (even from it's tiny speakers)

Many thanks for this brilliant and easy to understand breakdown of chords and intervals within the context of the Deluge. So helpful!

Very creative use of arp! I’m thinking coupling this with the zoia and sending random or sequenced midi notes and CC to mute the notes, modify the speed in sync with the tempo, add random filters… thanks for the idea!

Great overview

I came home from work inspired to try to play a major chor rhythm to make a video that makes this same point... turns out its pretty tricky haha... splitting a 5 beat bar into 4 even beats isn't too hard to play, which is a major third ratio, but the beat is longer than the pulse which means the interval is going down, so really it is a minor 6 in the octave below. I can try to shift what I am thinking of as the pulse but its a bit of a head fuck to play haha and the tamber created it pretty messy. Much simpler to do it digitally like you did haha.

Valuable information regarding the envelope delay being synced to a tempo! This page has always been my worst enemy lol. Nice video :)

I'm assuming you're able to sequence the plaits with the deluge? I have a deluge & was thinking of getting a rack similar. Do you have the modulargrid by chance?

Wow this video has become really annoying as my Hydrasynth is not behaving in the same way. Modulating filter cut-off winth Env 3 after setting trigger source to LFO1 had no discernible effect. Is there something that I am missing?!

Lovely jam there and I like this idea - i got the AK but not a fan of the Elektron way of sequencing and find hunting for 4 different patches a pain as its a weird thing to program - this way I get to just use my preferred sequencer (Carbon) and target it as a 4 voice analog poly. Im also thinking if using it as an external midi controller (into the Carbon) and keen to know if you were successful having it midi cc out from the knobs? Thx

I come from China, last year i tried all the groove box and really love them, till last month i learned there's only two DELUGE in my whole country, and luckily i am one of the owners which is incredible, i buy mine last month from a guy travel from Europe, its unbelieve such a beautiful 7 years old gear with none dealer in China, i decide to learn this from your masters and someday make videos to show our country this kind of thing. i really enjoy your performer and learn a lot, great music!
@boredapathetic3 ай бұрын
how is that even possible? only two in China? how did you determine that?
@feveragain3 ай бұрын
there are no Chinese distributors for Deluge, it wasn't until this Spring Festival that one guy started purchasing on behalf of it, and his current sales volume is 2, while no original Deluge videos created on any Chinese social media platforms
@boredapathetic3 ай бұрын
@@feveragain thanks for replying. are there any grooveboxes that ARE popular in China as well as have distribution? if so, which ones?
@feveragain3 ай бұрын
op-1 field、MC-707、maschine mk3,such these things we can buy on internet, we don't treat groove box seriously, and not too much people use synth to make music, for example i know a guy as good as this one, but with 70+ videos he only got 40+ followers, we love synth but not too much people can learn it by hand, we use daw for most because pro musician need to make a living. People really like the sound of synthesizers, but mostly only listen to music made by daw. We can afford synthesizers but have nowhere to buy them, plus don't understand the manual language, which has caused this circle to remain small. We need someone standout to learn this like real instrument and master it, make some good music. @@boredapathetic

Best instructional video I’ve seen on the CS. Love mine and this has inspired me to break out of my usual sawtooth/pulse exploring. I’ve never had a good grasp on FM and Ring. This helped a lot. Thank you! It’s an oddly deep synth for what it is. I only wish it included aftertouch, which was on the CS80. Overall, programming it reminds me a little of a Juno-106.

Makes sense. It does have a little bit of a Juno-106 quality to it, which is used a lot by Kevin Parker.

Fantastic! Right now I have a Neutron, a Korg Minilogue, and a Roland FA-08 on my synth tower. My laptop has been down for months now been a bit of a chore to learn how to record on the workstation but this gives me one more tool in my toolkit to try out if you can record an entire song (at least in pre-production) from the Neutron. Cheers man!

Interesting … I was all but set on the 340 for the string sounds … I thought the vocoder was better than this/the VP-02, too, though - but maybe not … I already have a pretty good vocoder (Digitech Talker). Not sure what to do for 330-like strings, now … a good, alternate vocoder made it a slightly sweeter deal …
