I'm really thinking the people working on the locomotive mightn't be doing something right. It shouldn't break down so quick after a repair makes me think investigation into repairing
@TRAlNVlDEOS14 сағат бұрын
Tbh I think the repairs they do are amazing, I’m intact I think they chose not to use Britannia for the return journey in fear it would cause more damage. Britannia is know for failing quite often sadly but it is back up and running again now, thanks for the comment!

They are what you call great locos
@johannessilver8653Күн бұрын
Nice classic locos for sure. Would just not pass any emission limitations and rules of the day. Oily grey smoke all the time out...more dangerous than that of steam locos.

I worked at Wimbledon TMD for 5 years as a train engineer and we had a wheel lathe there. That meant we got in many visiting locos, coaches AND PRESERVED Deltics to have wheels skimmed ( this is done with the wheels still on the train they just drive over the lathe pit and each wheel is turned by itself). KOYLI always sounded beautiful. Those Napier Deltics purring away. My late father was on the team that put in the witing foe the prototype DELTIC and later production ones. So whenever I see one I am reminded of him. The old Whistlers were awesome as well I just wish they had retained some as station pilots like they have done with the mighty 37's I travelled many times on the ECML behind Deltics in service and at 100 MPH they sound AWESOME. EEEURGH 66 YINGER awful piece of rubbish sounds like a blender

Why is a diesel locomotive hauling a steam locomotive? Is it so that the passengers have light and other electrical equipment?
@TRAlNVlDEOS6 күн бұрын
This is empty coaching stock, I assume the diesel was to save on coal and water or maybe they wanted to also move the diesel to Carnforth so just did it in the same move to make it easier, hope this helped and thanks for the comment! 😊

Great to see Sir Nigel Gresley out and about again, marvelous loco. I was fortunate enough to photo same in the early '80's from my duty Signal Box at Shippea Hill as it was enroute to Norwich for the gala that year...

You never saw track like this in my days on British rail absolutely disgusting, even sidings were kept clear of weeds !!!!!!!!
@TRAlNVlDEOS19 күн бұрын
The reason there are so many weeds in the station is because the weed killer isn’t allowed to be sprayed in the station because of health risks the track outside of the station is mainly clear of weeds, thanks for the comment! 👍
