Back in June 15-22nd I was fishing over at Lake Chelan in WA. I caught almost all my biggest fish off a metallic green rooster tail. One morning, I limited out in an hour. I caught so many fish off that rooster tail ,it eventually broke in half. I tried a bunch of other lures, but the green one kicked some butt. I didn't have another one. I drove to town and picked up a few more at Walmart. The next day, I caught an 8 lb king salmon. My brother caught an 11 lb king off a 3in green senko while we were lake trout/small mouth bass fishing. What an awesome lake. I can't wait to go back there. Next time, I'll have to hide the gourmet dog treats. So someone doesn't mistake them for chicken jerkey and eat half the bag again. 🤣🤣🤣 Dave😂

"Light drag is the right drag", going to steal that saying. friends always ask me why i change my line every year, buy expensive terminal tackle and check my lure line after every catch. Like you said big fish have ESP! 😅

If you want cooler weather head further up the road to Little Grass Valley Reservoir CA, (little beaver boat launch), you can catch your fill of trout and kokanee in a remote setting, lake to yourself.

All about the beckman nets! Nice time on the water. I'm having a hard time on one of my lakes trolling for bows cause the weeds are up so high and it's not a deep lake. So I've been on bass with wacky rigs slaying them. In 3 weeks I'm heading to my river to catch our return run king and coho salmon. It's gonna be good cause that means the best fishing days ahead! Nice video on finicky trout tight lines friend!

That seems like a really long set-back for a downrigger? When do you run a dodger vs. not run a dodger?
@FHSTackle
@FHSTackle 12 күн бұрын
I run a decent set back so I can adjust to the marks I see on sonar…..I experiment with dodgers to see if I can improve on my results but I almost always start naked. Dodgers and necessary and sometimes work incredibly well but they are also wildly overused…..

Hey Cal unrelated to the video but do you think it’s too late in the season to target trout up at Sugar Pine Reservoir or the Foresthill area in general? Appreciate all of the guides you have, they’re an invaluable resource to young anglers like myself.

I've been making my own spinners for the last year now and absolutely love it cause I can come up with combos you could've find in a store or online. I got a 12 pound lake trout a few weeks ago trolling a hammered Colorado blade spinner with a dressed treble hook I did with UV Marabou and luminescent flashabou.

I'm not much of a fisherman but i do snorkel and love to swim at the bottom of the middle fork. I've seen hundreds of humongous trout down there over the years and hardly any people fishing them out. Also tons of trout in the north fork of the middle fork American river. Right off Mosquito ridge road. The river is shallower but has many waterfalls where the trout like to wait and feed.

@@nye-zikcreative9651 If you hike up about 2 miles past the circle bridge on mosquito ridge road you can find some really deep pools. The first one you come to is about 40 feet deep. You can't miss it. Just take the North fork of the middle fork trail up river.

I have a question hopefully you can help me out with the slip bobber fishing: my bait is twisting around the line that does not allow the bait to travel down to the 20-40’ft of depth where the fish are located ( I have tried sideways casting, over the head casting) any suggestions tips will be appreciated and leaving my frustration on shore. Respectfully Bill S.

Play with the rig and maybe add some split shot to the leader… Your leader maybe too light…. I’d start with the leader… try some 8 lb vanish fluorocarbon

@@FHSTackle thank you for your answer, maybe my rig is too light: my leader is 4lb fluorocarbon, I will try 8lb leader hopefully it will help with bait getting twisted around and knotting up and not sinking to my depth. Anything else that you think of please let me know. I will be fishing this weekend and I will let you know. Respectfully Bill Schopp

Thanks for all the great advice. I used scotty releases for years. Sometimes when i reel up to change my lure i had a small dead koke that i dragged for who knows how long. That is the only reason i switched to Chamberlin releases. Even little kokes release And no more false pop offs at 80ft. Happy fishing!

Wanted to share an iteration of your hybrid leadcore setup ive been using the last couple trips seem to work for deeper running fish anywhere from 35-45 ft. 15lb braid - 4 colors of 12lb leadcore - 8lb fluro , Stumpy meadows and Pardee have been where ive tested the setup 9 rainbows and 3 browns out of stumpy, Manged to catch 6 kokes and 1 brown almost 5lbs from Pardee where all marks where coming from 38-47ft

Fish shaped weights do attract fish, and does seem to be more often than your standard cannonball. Now is this good or bad? No clue. They track well and prices are about the same as a high quality coated name brand cannonball. So it comes down to opinion, does the few extra fish that follow the weight result in additional catch? Or do these fish get spooked and result in a loss of catch? I am assuming the answer is likely yes to both... So it simply comes down to personal preference.

He's a joke and wouldn't know the difference between a slip and a blood knot, no offense to a "influencer" but trash videos with horrible information. Keep bass flipping and rippin lips bro. . .as i said in a comment. Everybody with a pole now thinks they know something 🤷‍♂️ embarrassing for the future of our nation honestly to watch crap like this and try to learn something. Its hardly blowing at all, but windy according to Title of video lol try fishing in a kayak or boat worth less than a 1000 and tell me how it goes
