Lovely solar setup you got there. My DIY system is much smaller, three 100ah LiFePo4 batteries and four 450 watt solar panels. My fridge ran throughout the hurricane as well as fans, lights and other small appliances. Greetings from Mobay.

I had to take down my panels because my panels is just place on the roof. Next day got up place them on the ground and power again. My community didn't loose power from the grid though. I love your system neat and with top class components. Mines is totally diy even my battery packs 🔋 I made . It's a 75ah 16s 48v battery 🔋 pack, a cheap Reliable 48v inverter and a Makeskyblue charge controller, everything working well. Oh have a slight balancing issue with by battery pack but a active balancer is coming and the Dally BMS seems to be slowly balancing the pack.

WOW brother thanks for sharing. As I always told people a little power is better than none, and in the event your community had lost power then you would have had same way. I use to have my panels on a stand made from 2 by 4 so that I can move them when necessary and had to take them down whenever store out!. Keep up the good job fam

I’m planning a very large system with enough batteries to power a 8 bedroom house with swim pool pumps and underground water tank when the house needs to the demand. How do i string 30kw of panels to a few 8kw all in one solarks as to be able to charge my 240kwh battery bank with a 8 hours time period and at the same time not damaging the internal charge controller on the all in one inverter systems? Thanks.

Greetings my friend, that system is a very massive system!. I would suggest you get a professional to carefully plan that system. I’ve never worked with a all in one system before,

I have a hybrid (5,000 watt) put down as my backup in case something happen to my system. But my system itself have a separate charge controller (150 amp, 16 panels) and inverter (15,000 watts, 120/240) + two batteries parallel, I just prefer it that way, more control and easier to upgrade. I run a small 5,000 btu AC with it, but now I have my eyes set on an EG4 Hybrid Solar Mini-Split kit. My plan is to set up that mini-split separate from the system I have now, it's really good at keeping itself going even with very low watts coming from the panels, they say it will run on as little as 120 watts. So I'm thinking when I get it I will add a battery to it and watch the numbers, if it produce excess I'll find use for that extra wattage. With the way the time get hot I think we all going to need some AC, if only to cool down the house at night so we can sleep.
@subbydiy
@subbydiy Ай бұрын
Wow my friend you are doing exceptionally will with a system like that. I wish you had stated your battery capacity thou. I think you will be having the Hybrid 5000 for a very long time thou 😁 but it’s always good to have a backup!. I prefer the system you have far more than a hybrid system and I will be doing a video on that shortly. Thanks for sharing

@@subbydiy I'm fortunate that I am able to be back and forth from the USA, so I buy my stuff from Signature Solar. I currently have 2 EG4 LifePower4 at 100AH each. Of course as you know, the more battery you can have the better. I wish I had 6, or 10! I'll add more as time goes on, but right now I want to get the AC and it is not cheap at US $3,150 then to ship and clear.
@subbydiy
@subbydiy Ай бұрын
Ok great then. Yes just add batteries as you go along, no stress. Yes the ac units can be very expensive and also shipment, but you are doing great thus far.

I'm interested in the roof. There seems to be 2 mini-roofs on the original slab-roof. Explain to me the design thinking and what problems this type of roof practically solves?
@subbydiy
@subbydiy 2 ай бұрын
We for me, I was trying to cut back on the cost, roofing is very expensive, but at the I love the drop sealing or some people call it tray sealing. My to favorite places in my home is the master’s bedroom and the kitchen so that’s where I put the two pieces of roof.
