What's all this about chipbreakers? Bevel up planes do not have chipbreakers. If it did have one, it would be impossible to advance it any closer to the cutting edge than the length of the bevel, which would render it worthless in any case.

Is the friggin blade supposed to sit at an angle out of the shoe? I'm new, but I can't imagine it's supposed to dig in on one side. I already spent like two hours flattening the base an another hour or so squaring the blade. The quality control on these things is straight shit

There is no chip breaker since the isron is bevel up. It does not need one. You can grind the bevel as you like, and the will prevent tear out.

A bevel up plane doesnt need à chip breaker, a bevel down plane has a chip breaker because the the back of the iron is flat. So a lever cap on a bevel up plane does not funtion as à chip breaker

spokeshave is a specific tool for the spoke of a wagon wheel to repeat the spokes uniformly

There's no chip breaker on this plane. The lever cap has no bearing in deflecting the wood shavings.

Have u ever used a draw knife. It’s a nice vid but all u would have to do is turn your wood around and work with the grain
