With the Disney curtains maybe sew a white or grey backing, may help with canceling the light coming through and let the castles pop out alot better. Just a suggestion.

Alien tape will hold anything if you want to put the curtain rod between the cabinet and the blue shelving unit. It will also keep lamps in place so they don't get knocked over and you can use it on rugs so they don't slide and will keep the corners down. If you think your rug is too big, could you slide one side of it under your teacher desk area and leave the rest for students to sit on? I think the little cart with tissues and sanitizer might work better by the door so it's in the front but away from all the supplies.

I think your teacher tool box is upside down. Your drawers will fit better if you flip it the top should be smooth.

I checked, the bottom is also recessed and the drawers only go in one way. I think they had just shifted during shipping is why they fell out, they'll all good now! Thank you for trying to help me out! 🥰

I can't believe you had to purchase your own backpack hooks. Seems like the school should be responsible for that. Also, do you really want the kiddos to walk up front to the teaching board every time they need a tissue or hand sanitizer? Why not closer to the door? Just the opinion of a 35 year veteran teacher. Your room is coming together. Don't fret.

Trade the gray cabinet with the blue cubbies. That way the gray cabinet is even with the library and the same color.

As a veteran teacher, there is always a room or two, used as "dumping grounds" for extra school materials. This has happened at several schools where I worked and it tends to be the new teachers who don't know better. After you teach for a year, you will be able to make sure that your room will not be used for extra storage :) Looking forward to future videos!

Congrats on having your own classroom! Think about your room in zones. Direct instruction, student work space, small group space, library, etc. Then place materials in proximity to the zones. :) I enjoyed watching you today!

I really want to do that too but I'm concerned with being able to grade them. Have you seen how 4th graders rip worksheets out? Lol, they're Neanderthals as far as that goes! Any suggestions for that? I thought about using the paper cutter and just cutting the binding off but then they'd have a full book of papers to lose before they even do them...

Now that that is your classroom it is not your job to store other teachers items they should have to get their materials out along with other stuff you don't want so you can have the classroom that you want.

I know, I totally understand that. It's kinda 2 fold though. As I mentioned in the video, I have more expendable space then they for the moment to store resources we might all utilize. Also, I will likely be able to get rid of some of it but don't wanna bother them while they enjoy the rest of their summer. Hopefully once we come in for insevice we can go through it and get rid of some, freeing up some space! Thanks so much for the input, I really do appreciate it 😊

I think I am going to try that, but the main reason I was going to do 1 row is that other teachers have said some students weren't able to reach an upper row. I think I'll be ok helping those that can't reach to save some wall space to put other furniture if needed! Thank you for the input, I need all the help I can get LOL!! 🥰
