Your the driver if you don't like the loading don't take it ,the driver is only responsible once on the road, the loder and his supervisor are responsible for insuring that the load is safe and secure. I have refused more than once, remember once on the road you are responsible.

@@jamesconnolly3827 absolutely correct, but when I asked them, The lord with the polystyrene is going to get crushed with my straps and it will damage your product they say, all driver do it, and they have mentioned it to BMI, the load was secure I can comfirm this but I damaged all the polystyrene doing so, as a respectful HGV driver I will always tell them what I'm about to do so hopefully they can fix it then and there but they wasn't botherd, I even ask them if I can get out and strap up before putting there lighter stuff on top that said no I'm releasing a video with a few questions so you may hear there response 👍

Under New Zealand Load Restraint Legislation. that is an insecure load. The top pallet can be crushed, letting the load loose. The forklift op would be in trouble(legal chain of responsibility) for not letting you strap the bottom pallets down THEN strap down the top layer.

So because because didn't complete the delivery and it went back to our yard, I left all my straps on and took some extra straps, It's up to the next driver to check if all is still tight and not strapped incorrectly I've done my part by getting it safely to its point, straps do loosen up all the time so it's always better just to give it an extra click every so often, The main point of this video was just to show the forklift driver wasn't being helpful by just placing anything anywhere I came up to him and said I am going to be strapping this and my only solution is to strap it over the polystyrene and he just shook his shoulders in another way of saying I don't care, and they don't let you get out on the site where you're being loaded so you can't check. The only BMI site that I actually don't mind is the one in Coventry all the others just have the attitude of don't care.

@@Anonymous-Kev thank you for your explanation I understood the message you were sharing with the viewers I was just wondering how it would be managed once you dropped the trailer for reroute and if the next driver had a similar concern or if did not feel comfortable with the way it was loaded by the fork lift operator what would happen at that point aswell I'm sure you made your company aware of your concerns to any possible damage to the product due to the fork lift operator and loading of the items Thank you again

@@user-to8ww9ve1n it's not I wasn't happy I made it clear to them I was going to be damaging your polystyrene to get enough grip on the roofing material that was in there I wasn't bothered it's just when I mentioned it they wasn't botherd.. so I made it tight enough to be happy to take the load, it would of been different if it wasn't tightened then id have to tell them to move it as then it becomes unstable load but in this matter it wasn't.

@@Ivc406 hi, you are not allowed to get out of your vehicle to watch them load up you have to wear all your PPE on all BMI sites including hard hat, as you seen thay load the first section which is the heavy items, then they tell you to follow them to the next section where they can load the lighter items, instead there should be saying please get out your vehicle strap up the first section so that when we put the lighter stuff on top you can use internal straps to support it but unfortunately all the BMI sites just don't care if you watch some of my other videos 🙂

1st question I didn't damage the product for content as it was mentioned to them on the weight bridge, I am not sticking a camera in there face and telling them to repeat it to satisfy people like yourself to confirm it was true that they don't care you even believe me on that or you don't.. The product inside was hard I think it was roofing material it was just the sides that was packaged in polystyrene which once I got enough tight it gripped onto the product inside yes I damaged the polystyrene but after I mentioned it on the weight bridge they seemed to just not care! As it's from BMI site to BMI site
@andym2679
@andym2679 3 күн бұрын
@@Anonymous-Kev who said anything about a camera or content internal straps would have been enough and then no damage to the polystyrene would have been done my opinion just being an awkward guy for nothing really yes the way some of it is loaded has left alot to be desired which im sure if polite enough you could have gotten some pallets moved into better positions
@Anonymous-Kev
@Anonymous-Kev 3 күн бұрын
@@andym2679 it was just how you described it meaning I'm trying to do it for content, I do apologise if that's not what you meant, internal straps can't be used on items that are half a ton you need to use ratchet straps The items in the polystyrene was still at a heavy weight because they were roofing materials, The polystyrene was just to protect the sides, and as I did mention it to them on the weighbridge that I'll have to put force down on the polystyrene to grip it, as I need to hold down the items underneath the polystyrene, There attitude was just I don't care. On my previous videos I've been to many other BMI sites and my experience with them just all the same, apart from the country BMI this one is fine. But as a forklift driver myself for 10 years before doing HGV, you are supposed to help by placing the items on the back in the correct place and also tell the driver that what you're doing before just doing it and sending them on the way meaning get them out let them strap up before placing more items on top, common courtesy considering the driver is not allowed out the cab, so I can't see what's going on 👍

Kev: Definitely had bad weekend and week. Didn't help that the east coast of the states had hurricane with severe t-storms went from the south to north. Yesterday's vid when you mentioned what are the flag things, those are actually semaphore signals. Frist introduced in the 1840s by Charles Hutton Gregory on the London and Croydon Railway. These signals quickly became the standard for railway signaling in Britain and were widely adopted by the mid-19th century. Present days are being phased out for more modern ones. The signal contains a pivot arm and a spectacle holding the contact lenses. The arm's position indicates different signals and the lenses provide visual indications at night. Arm rises indicate clear. Arm lowers indicates stop or slow, depends. I won't go further for you won't understand and it's too much to write here. Lastly, DEFINITELY need more humor sprinkled throughout. The one on the trees had me rolling for 5 mins straight. NEEDED THAT!!! Thx for that. Rewatched three times. It was that good!!!

As a HGV Driver I wouldn’t entrust Forkies to load a toaster never mind my wagon…….You shove on a High vis, a hard hat and you watch these muppets because at the end of the day they don’t care and it’s the Driver of the Wagon responsibility once that load is on the back. Shipping from Texas to the UK costs round 80 quid ($100 USD). Takes more or less a month. Those cars are the classic from the 70s or the 80s. Can’t remember which.
