I have the same problem, which the volume knob doesnt work as volume, but it seems it controls a bit of tone. Everything is wired properly, i check the switch connection but it works, just the volume issues.
@Bruddermane25 күн бұрын
I found that I had to replace the volume knob because it was faulty when that happened to me. It was frustrating finding that out but I ended up getting piece of mind when I finally did it.

I have EmG 81/85-7s in my Schecter and personally the battery life is INFINITELY better. In the 14 years I've had this guitar I've changed the batter maybe 5 or 6 times. The Fishman tend to eat the battery more from my research and the sound isn't much different.

I'm going to be very blunt you seem from the content you create to be a very pleasant person but you honestly are using the incorrect router you should be using a palm style router the weight of that router is imbalanced for following a polycarb or acrylic template second you have super long gangly fingers if you are looking to lose them lifting rotating tool out of a cavity is a great way to have an injury that being said the final product looked decent enough.

What glue is best to reattach a new nut? Also, did the Graphtech pt-6642-00 work as good as the factory nut? I am worried about the angled factory nut not matching the replacement.
@Bruddermane2 ай бұрын
The new nut (pt-6642-00) worked like a charm! It fixed my issues with string buzzing. I don’t have a recommendation for a chisel or glue other than if you buy one at the store, you have to find the smallest one the got. Because my smallest normal woodworking chisel was almost too big. As for glue I use the tiniest drops of super glue (two, one near the A string and one near the B string). I only say I don’t have serious recommendations because luthiers would probably frown on my techniques but it’s worked out. I saw nothing wrong after I was done and the issue is fixed. I know that small amount of super glue too is easy to remove too.
@d.j.99612 ай бұрын
I was looking at that same model of graphtech nut. I also noticed that my nut is slanted or at a ramp like yours was. Did the 6642-00 Graphtech work out good for you? Does it still play as nice with the new nut?
@d.j.99612 ай бұрын
Is there a specific name for that exact chisel you used? My Schector c6 Deluxe needs a new nut as well. It was playing fine until I removed the strings! I purchased it second hand & it looked like some funny business was going on with the nut. Almost as if someone used superglue on the nut slots but, when I went back the second time, 99.99% of all fret buzz was gone & it played beautifully so I just played it the way it was until today & now this. I NEED my Schector c6 Deluxe back to 100% I have fallen in love with this guitar prior to today.

I bought graphtech ratio tuners, Seymour Duncan jb/jazz set pickups, tonepro bridge and tail piece, new jack ,cts pots, switchcraft switch and sence its the buckethead ripoff i put tesi kill switches . Probably spent more than double for parts than the guitar lol. It plays great though and it was fun doing it. I have more expensive guitars already . I had a good time working on it, though, and play it more than my other guitars. If i ever get rid of it I'll take all my parts off and put back all the crap. Nothing wrong with having a good set of tuners and pickups laying around.

Since ive bought several Firefly guitars and have watched many reviews some legit and some obviously sponsored so they tend to hold back the honesty in fear of not getting new products for free Firefly started with high quality and was out only every 4 to 5 months now that production has ramped up the quality is lacking yes my FFLP is awesome and my i believe FF38? but my FFLX and i believe FFLB were garbage had several issues to many to go into and my Firefly SG copy is just okay..so basically it's either a hit or miss

Hey man, i've seen one of their videos saying that in some cases, you need to turn the bridge pickup so the poles would match, like rotating the pickup at a 180, so the bottom pole would be on the top and the top on the bottom, i dont know if that is the case for you, but i hope that it helps!
@Bruddermane2 ай бұрын
Gotcha! Thank you for the comment. After working with their support for a few weeks and swapping poles, I found the issue was my bridge pickup was too weak to work properly. It works a lot better but I wouldn’t say it’s as flawless as it’s advertised hahaha but it’s still fun!

Nice video bud...you covered it very well. I recently bought a Firefly Tele and completely overhauled it. I noticed the same lack of ground wire to the bridge. I haven't noticed any negative consequences of it though. Nice guitar. I also swapped out the bridge for a Van Dyke Harms stainless steel bridge with compensated saddles. Well built bridge...pricey though...and changed the whole tone of the guitar. Cheers bud
@Bruddermane3 ай бұрын
Nice! I actually ended up putting the original bridge back on this one and am thinking of getting compensated saddles to make up for intonation. I honestly like the traditional tele look too. So it’s been cool to have the “modern feeling” one. Enjoy yours! :)

Try compensated saddles, Gotohs are the best, easy $40 fix. Wilkinsons need the witness point edge burnished and the strings will wander side to side.

@@Bruddermane As you discovered not all Tele bridges are created equal. I've found on FF Teles keeping the bridge, swapping saddles for compensated or filing compensation slopes into the grooved saddles there are the first part. Second is replacing the odd brass back plate on the pickup for copper plated steel, check Mojotone. If you're not running complicated switching strap the backplate to the negative lead of the pickup. Strapped backplates ground the bridge plate, running an additional ground lead can create a ground loop. Put a piece of masking tape over the pole pieces to isolate them from the back plate. For 4 position selectors w series switching run a separate ground lead to the backplate. In either case the pickup adjuster screws ground the bridge plate. The plastic bobbin bridge pickups on these are actually pretty good! I've found the neck pickups sound best without the cover. There's a thick gobby layer of silicone between the cover and the pole pieces, and the cover is too tall to install with the best (very slim) distance between them. To ground an uncovered pickup similarly use a steel baseplate for a Strat pickup, Mojotone again, piece of tape over the pole pieces, bathtub silicone, strap the plate to the negative lead or run a separate ground lead for 4 and 5 position selector switching. Bootstrap sells fantastic handwound Tele pickups for unbelievable prices btw.
