Hey, pulled out my old Xbox 360 today, got a pretty high end vga crt recently and realise the 360 can output RGB over VGA cable so got the cable and tried it out today only to find the same issue that you were having, it took me a while to work out that was the issue but once I stripped the xbox down a process of ilmination had me trying it without the faceplate plugged in and guess what that was the issue. So just order a new ribbon cable for 5 bucks and this video will come in very handy. Many thanks for you hard work all those years ago and am sure it will continue to be refered to as time goes by.

I have a 360 E that randomly ejects and closes the tray. Would a bad ribbon cable cause that? I've tore it down and repasted and cleaned everything, nothings broken.

thanks my dude worked like a charm had to add like another 3 layers of tape to get it to work but might have to remove like 1 layer cuz like you said my disks sounds loud when stopping to take them out

I just ripped it out and didnt even get a new cable I just turn it on with a controller. Eject button still works if you're wondering but, technically just keep it broken and itll work perfectly. Thanks my dude, still super helpful 10 years later.

Hi, this is a great fix. Our Xbox 360 disc tray was stuck and this works perfectly. I was thinking that as the rubber band which opens the tray gets weaker with age it may be that it is unable to overcome the magnet, it sure is strong! Your fix worked perfectly, two layers of tape works on ours. I noticed too in ours that the moving part of the optical drive was hitting the circuit board. I'm not sure why that was. It didn't seem like anything else was out of place. The board had a bit of a curve to it. I had to put a bit of eraser in at the side where it normally clips in to push it away from the moving parts. I had to take the bottom cover off as well as I didn't want that circuit board to touch it. I just used the top cover on the drive. I checked to make sure the board didn't touch anything but I had to be careful how I pushed on the connectors as only two screws at the back now hold the board in place. So far so good. The grandchildren are happy. Thanks! Great fix! :)

It's pretty simple, you just gotta dismantle completely the console, extract hard drives, un screw shit, then re build your console from pieces. 😐, yeah, pretty simple. Ill get right on that, after i get out of college for electronics.

Save your money! I received a gift certificate for an MTailor shirt a couple of years ago and thought it was a novel idea, but I was skeptical. However, I gave it a shot and I went through the whole video method of their "expert" measuring procedure. The shirt arrived and when I tried it on, it was a horrible fit. I believe have an average body type - 6'-0" tall, 185 lbs, 15 1/2" neck / 34" arms/ athletic fit. The arms were way too tight, the chest was tight and the waist was large, although the fabric was nice. It would be my suggestion, due to my experience, that if you are considering ordering a shirt through MTailor, do yourself a favor and save your money and avoid MTailor.
