Ann Margaret is the female Elvis of sex appeal. Nothing wrong with that. Truth is she's wasn't really a great actress but she is a fabulous dancer & more of stage performer than anything. Certainly not being offered roles played a part in her inability to excel the way she would have liked. It could also have been because she was not willing to hit the producers casting couch like so many have. The same thing can also be said for Elvis with regards to not being offered serious acting roles. When you reach that level of celebrity due to sex appeal or other talents outside of acting you become type cast for those types of roles. Farrah Fawcett Majors and Cher come to mind as a couple who managed to overcome some of that type casting and both turned out a couple of great quality movies. Marilyn Monroe had to deal with this very same issue. Hollywood is cesspool of sexuality and that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Rachel Welch is another one that dealt with the very same issues.
