If you know a good fab guy. All the parts can be remade on older chassis. I got a 1993 Margay & a 1997 UltraMax. So far, all basic parts inner change. Plus I’ve done some mods on them both. Using the Margay for the ghost class & the ultra max for the XBP class. It’s all about fun. It’s go kart racing.

I use a tilted engine mount, the top of my front sprocket is pretty much in line with the top of my rear sprocket. Is it true this may create bind/loss of power out of corners? I read that the crank should ideally be the same height as the axle.
@kart6t3_ben8 күн бұрын
Never looked into that. Might be some truth to it? Hard to say whether the angle axle/crank actually matters or not? Interesting.
@Mahatheyew8 күн бұрын
@@kart6t3_ben "The only thing about an angled mount is that it raises the engine up. Ideally the crank and the axle are the same height, the further up the crank is from the axle, the more bind you get in the chain when the kart flexes. Theoretically it robs a little power coming out of corners, or you’ll be a little more likely to throw a chain, but realistically it’s not a big deal for a KA or X30."

Told you hahaha. Running the clones and the predator makes you relearn to drive again. Tires, chassis, scale, prep, all of that and d8d I say relearning to drive again hahaha. Because it's truth. High horsepower allows you to correct mistakes. Lower power you mess up and your basically done. You have no choice but to be like the rest and push ppl out of the way.... unless you kamikaze into the corners like a lot of them do, that's a no no. My open team mate is also finding this out as well in the clone class. He builds our uas motors and we'll all of these motors. But he recently decided to run the clones, and has found out you need to drive better and keep the laps consistent every lap.

Think you’ll find that the reason Evan and Kyle can be better in open/UAS is that they’re not loosing as much as far as speed just like the clones. Because you came from open racing you had that HP cushion to get you out of trouble and it makes us complacent. Now in stockers it’s not loosing speed cause you have no HP.
