You're talking at an angle so you don't really need the pop filter, and anyway it's way too close to the mic.

Thank you, @OneCheapEric! The handle wouldn't retract on two of our older but too-sentimental-to-get-rid-of carryon suitcases. Worked like a charm on my wife's. Similar but decidedly different issue with the one on mine. Will figure it out and LYK what was the issue.
