So cool to see her Velma inserted into the revival staging. I'm not sure if that's the exact costume too, but it looks very much like the style used in the original. I know I've read that the costume designer for the revival does it custom for each performer in a role so they are all a little different -- it's so cool that Chita's is still the same one or very similar.

That raspy voice is almost like Tina Tuner as Velma Kelly. And given what she lived Through she could have definitely been in the cell block tango if Ike pushed her far enough.

As far as stunt casting goes, Melanie was not a bad choice.

I’m really surprised by all these positive comments. Maybe it’s because I’ve seen so many Broadway shows, and I know what real Broadway performers are like, I just think she’s awful. It seems like she’s just going through the motions. Like, she’s just Melanie Griffith, talking not acting, kind of singing and kind of dancing.

I just watched this Musical, for the first time, December 30th/2023, in Toronto. The cast was Amazing! Melanie NAILS this!

Beautiful 🤩 I love the dignity she displays as the audience applauded the last met performance how she breaks down a real love ❤️ of the opera and audience a absolutely classy lady

Maria Callas fans are crazy people. They do not know opera really. They attract all other sopranos as well a slow tenors that are opposite her on stage by claiming the she kill the tenor.

What an incredible artist! This is one of Verdi’s more bel canto esque operas. It’s pure, beautiful, and full of power with coloratura. Luisa Miller with Scotto- and Caballe in her prime- is as close to perfection as you can get.
