Real answer = Pioneer if you ever want to play at a venue or event. Denon if you are a hobbyist or social media DJ. I was always a part time DJ, balancing an unrelated professional career with playing bars / clubs / events at weekends. About 10 years ago I decided to focus on my real career and sold the pioneer stuff. 3 years ago i wanted a small setup to mess around with with at home + the 6000 had just come out - it was a no brainer given the tech and dual layers (4 decks on 2 players). This saves on space and a load of cash and im happy with this setup. But my advice to any aspiring DJ thats wants to play out and get paid, go Pioneer. I guess if your thing is mixes for KZfaq or TikTok, you could use whatever you want and budget allows, but if you ever get big enough your going to have to invest in new gear and learning how to use it all over again. Oh yeah, Recordbox will be a bitch to move everything over.

What is the name of the software that you use to format your drive in fat 32? Another software out there and a lot of it only does it for drives how are smaller than 2 terabytes or 2tb partitions. My library is 3 or 4 TB. Thanks

I take issue with your opinion that Pioneer hardware is more robust than Denon. might have been the case in the past. but their recent hardware releases from the 3000, to the A9 have been trash. I repair these things regularly. The components in both of those devices are stripped from a multitude of older Pioneer DJ hardware and controllers. they fail, they break and are worth shit imo. their warranty is also complete garbage and a waste of time.. these things should not have ever been consider industry standard. pioneer is a failing company. they do not do their own research and development anymore. they copy from Denon. the reason they're not lowering their prices on these devices is because it would literally end the Denon DJ brand. no one would buy then and DJ if the Pioneer equivalent was priced in the same sphere.. you were right about that. and then in DJ is the ad hoc r&d department for Pioneer DJ. Denon DJ will release something with top of the line components and next level features.. Pioneer will buy a bunch of them and hand them over to their engineers to reverse engineer everything in it. few months later, Pioneer releases their own little version with a extra $1,000 premium price added on for shits and giggles (and because DJ morons who cannot DJ depend on record box, serato, traktor and pro dj link to actually do the heavy lifting when performing). DJ industry didn't enable pioneer as much as it is enabling it, you wouldn't be seeing this ridiculous asinine price. they're pricing would bankrupt any electronic company in any other industry. but the DJ industry is aimed at the most stupid consumer there is. the DJ. no backbone, no talent. cannot do any of the work on their own and depends on Pioneers asinine effects and synchronization to hide their complete lack of skills when behind the decks

Cdj3000 is world club standard work all day and night . you will play in club you buy cdj3000 u will play at home u buy denon

If you drag and drop each folder into the software,.it will turn your computer folder into a playlist with the same name, essentially replicating your entire structure. Did this with mine, took about 15 mins to get everything in order.

Im sibilance sensitive and I much prefer the NTG3.

Cdj3000 is far better. The sc6000 is solid in the software department. Denon needs to make serious changes to the jogwheel, circular cue n play buttons, remove beat skip and retain fast search (no shortcuts), get rid of the rolls and slicers (no one needs it), the cdj3000 feels terrific though - flawless unit but a tad outdated on the software. Nonetheless tech is good nowadays 🎉

my pioneer decks collect dust, i use my denon gear 90% of the time for fun and music exploration, i only fire up the pioneers when getting record box sticks ready, i agree 100% with all your points

The entire issue is rekordbox. given pioneer is used everywhere, every single DJ is setting cues and gridding songs in rekordbox. No way is everyone going to switch over to denon and redo all their librarys, pioneer has the industry in a chokehold

Mate, I 100% disagree with most of your points. Denon SC6000 and Engine Dj does what you want. 1. The play button.... Press and hold cue or keep pressing cue until you're where it's at and then press play, it continues from there. 2. ExFat is same as Fat32 and you have been able to do this on windows with a simple right click and format if external drive as if it was an ubs drive. 3. Lights flash when they are in use and solid when not. Other points I'll address but don't agree with the use cases you say. Pioneer 3000s are good but not as good as SC6000.

for my simple tasks totalmix is great. well made layout, metering, snapshots... and overall great build quality and great customer support. never had such a stable interface with low latency in my life. BF pro FS

Another point: I purchased a used Digiface USB interface to handle my ADAT routing and am very pleased with the quality of the ADAT digital to analog conversion but like so many others out there, I too find TotalMix to be both a tremendously powerful but extremely confusing user interface, as well as how frustrated I was after searching far and wide just to find the info as to why I was unable to utilize the effects in TotalMix with the Digiface interface. Maybe a simple popup when users click on the effects section notifying you that this functionality is not supported by this device or making it more obvious that it is not part of the Digiface functionality by graying it out when selecting settings options for the Digiface but making them fully colorized when selecting settings options for any other RME devices that might also be connected

As soon as you get your head around totalmix, you realise how good RME actually are. I use the Fireface UFX iii and it is amazing. Not going to lie that totalmix initially had me wanting to smash the thing but, if you stop, breath and work through that you realise how bloody logical it is and how powerful it is too.

I came from a prism TITAN dante version THAT was a BIG headache (switched several times due to faulty units and software bugs).
