What FFL should i get if i want to get class 3 collectors guns
@TheLarkinsLair
@TheLarkinsLair 4 күн бұрын
Like an 03 SOT for full auto stuff? They don't really have a "collector" version for full automatic guns. The Collector FFL (03) is only good for "curios and relics" (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bsh_ac6f1ZORnXU.htmlsi=NcM07SsI9VZZ2I1M) essentially guns that are 50+ years old. So essentially it won't include any post 1986 machine guns anyway. So in any case just get a transferable machine gun and don't worry about getting an FFL and a SOT because they don't make them for collectors anyway. It was a small sample size and a small compensator. But from what I can tell in this set up it doesn't effect it enough to even take into consideration. Now suppressors... that is a different story.

To be honest, for now it is just the lowers. However the ATF wants to serialize all sorts of parts including uppers and barrels. Which would make it a real pain to engage in legal firearm activity.

I've had mine since Dec 2020 and the original battery just went dead. Remember it's auto dimming so if you store the gun in a dark drawer or in a safe the battery is going to go dead faster. Mine is either on the table next to my bed or on me the majority of the time so it's getting exposed to light and dimming.

Just a few ideas for reloaders. Brass is easily managed using clear plastic containers. A 1/2 gallon square with a screw lid from walmart holds about 1500 empty 9mm. Small trays about 6 inchs in diameter with low sides hold brass and bullets that are easy access and hold lots of components.

This is a good idea everything in one place and easy to transport. We shoot at a private outdoor range. I carry a midway bag that has guns, mags, mag pouches, trauma kit and things gun related. I also take an old craftsman tool duffle bag for tape, targets, spray paint for steel targets, a trainer gun, and containers to pick brass.

@nevadadesertrat267 22 күн бұрын
First off I did not see any first aid/survival in this video. You are shooting on public land which is what I do most the time. But on a public range a throwaway AR mag comes in handy. Before the crap hit the fan at the Carson City Nevada range. I used to road trip once a month to shoot with friends and family. And the amount of times somebody I did not know would leave there AR mag at home in The peoples republic of ca. At least thats what they claimed. There day would be saved by a throwaway AR mag I could loan them/maybe not get back. Now about safety. NEVER NEVER EVER shoot steel core ammo. Here in Nevada its mostly BLM land. And some National Forest. I had the privileged of having a chat with a Nevada Fire Marshal that was carrying a gun. Which means he had arrest capability's. He talked about there experiments. And how they were able to get fires started by shooting. He did not say it but what he described was steal core ammo. Think Rocks and metal targets. Shooting on rocky ground is a fire hazard. And I know for a fact a 9mm can bounce off a rock and travel more than a half mile down range. even off of dirt it can make it out past a half mile. Now about fire safety. As far as fire on BLM land on there website it says shovel, fire extinguisher and 5 gallons of water. And all the BLM districts have a fire season as it were. Go to the local district BLM website and check out there public news dispatches. You will find somewhere in june they go into fire restrictions and dont open up again till maybe October. The fire restrictions can be anywhere from no welding to no shooting after 11am. They will forbid binary targets and steel core ammo among other things. Now about safety/first aid. You are shooting think Tourniquet. On Jan 4 2019 I went hiking down range from a great spot I found to shoot on BLM land. 2 1/2 hours in I was on the ground with a broken leg and a dead phone. After I was rescued on Jan 5. My closest shooting buddy gave a me a Tourniquet that came form his father after he heard of my ordeal. lately because of the covid jab. I have had 2 people I know that have had heart valve issues both where jabbed. They had to stop there hearts to reset. I recently added an Oximeter, Blood pressure cup and a $50 EKG machine/meter to my first aid kit. My first aid kit includes military suture. Ever see a gun blow up in somebody's face?I have. I never knew the guys name. But a group of us stepped up and he survived the ordeal. At least he was in reasonably fair health when the ambulance left. A far as what is in my day hiking pack that follows me around would make a good video. It weighs almost 20lbs and I take it with me when I pick up the mail. Being broken and on the ground with a 3 day life expectancy made me paranoid. By the way good video NDR
@TheLarkinsLair
@TheLarkinsLair 13 күн бұрын
That is all great information! I always have decent first aid kits in both of my vehicles along with basic tools. That is a crazy story about your broken leg! Glad you made it. Experiences like that can sure change the way you look at the world. I have considered upgrading my phone to an iPhone 14/15 because of the built in satellite capability, although if you battery is dead it wouldn't help you much anyway. I have not seen a gun blow up in person, but I can imagine it would not be great for the shooter especially a rifle where your neck is not that far away from the chamber. Maybe I will make another video talking about everything I take with me to the range including the extinguisher, shovel, etc. It also depends on who and when I am going with. Up here we can get 1-2+ feet of snow in the winter and then I leave the extinguisher/water behind, because at that time of year you would be lucky to start the mountain on fire with a full gas can. I have always wanted, and someday will, take a more advanced medical training class. I to a basic first responder class every two years, but it mostly is just how to stabilize someone until the cavalry can get there. I know some basic trauma stuff, but doing stiches/IVs is currently beyond my skill set.

After looking around on some of the firearms forms it sounds like you are not alone. However the best solutions I read about were to take a firearms punch set and hammer and hit the pins out, ensuring that there is a gap below the firearm for the pins to go into. One guy positioned it over a crack in his deck to get the pins out. Maybe one of these forms will help. www.perfectunion.com/threads/new-10-22-receiver-cross-pin-stuck-help.84309/ www.northwestfirearms.com/threads/receiver-pins-stuck-in-10-22.254898/ www.reddit.com/r/1022/comments/13uezg5/cant_disassemble_1022_pins_wont_come_out/ I wish you lived near by, that sounds like a great video to make showing how to get the stuck pins out. @TheLarkinsLair
@TheLarkinsLair Ай бұрын
No matter how hot I loaded the blanks with pistol powder they never cycled the gun even with a golf ball launcher on the end. There wasn't enough pressure in the gas tube to cycle the action. Even when the blank was 100% full of 700X which is a fast pistol powder. So it probably won't really matter how hot you load your blank for your M1 Garand. I would start somewhere similar to where I did my .223 blanks and go up from there. But my guess is it won't matter. Ultra hot blanks: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ebliZcqS0NCamYk.html If you want blanks to cycle properly you have to use one of these: militarydepotusa.com/ar15-m4-m23-blank-firing-adaptor-for-carbine-yellow-mnt16ad2c/
