After BA crews stranded thousands on Christmas a few years ago, like many others I now refer to them as the worst airline in the industry .... planes are ok, but their crews are the worst in aviation.

Same here, when I am on a plane for real I like to know the names of the cities, towns, mountain ranges etc. I can see out of the window, they should have it all somewhere in the inflight entertainment.

At 5.30, just coming into view, that big green area criss-crossed by paths is Hanworth Park. The park was literally at the end of my road when I was growing up. If you can imagine looking down through the body of the aircraft, it's turning just above a street called Sunningdale Avenue. We always used to joke, that planes going to America would look down, see our house and say 'right, here we go' - though as you can see, they start the turn much earlier when taking off eastwards. This was a lovely video, really beautifully sharp, takes me back a good many years!

Whoa! I think you're right. I would have thought nothing of it If I didn't see your comment. Didn't know it was possible to hear the FOPP in the cockpit.
@J8sStellarGraphicsАй бұрын
@@CHRISGT34 if you can hear it outside, you sure as heck can hear it inside, as for any plane. I used this reference a lot for the JT9D powered 747's and 767's. It just stays at the same pitch while at TOGA, as to an observer on the inside of the plane, unlike the doppler effect that takes place as it passes by to an observer on the outside of the aircraft
