Wow. I had a huge upside horse shoe tear in m y left eye years ago: I knew it was a tear because at the time 2002 I had a huge flash at night: looked it up online and went to an Langley Air force base; the surgeon immediately prepped me for surgery and used a technique that is NOT DESCRIBED anywhere in your informative article; his equipment was for Air force pilots. and I am looking for a similar procedure. He fixed my right eye the same way in 2005 using a laser and drops and I was seated, healed over the past 20 years and now have cataracts which need to be removed so I am doing research since my eyes are damaged for life: as he put I am a retinal patient .. thanks for your informative video on this

I appreciate your concise and informational video! After I detected abnormally frequent floaters and consulted with doctors, I was strongly recommended to take this laser operation to my eyes. Though I feel discomfort with increased floaters(I heard it will be less significant as the time go by), operation seems successful. As the video tells, the earlier you get a inspection, the better results and cheaper cost you will get. I heard although there is a risk(laser can cause visual field defect) for laser operation, the percentage is significantly low( My doctor told me such a incident will be reported once in a a few years at an academic conference in Japan).

Does laser treatment cause permanent blindness in area of burns? Any non destructive alternative?
@PotatoPieYT Жыл бұрын
It can cause some vision loss or morphing in the area of the laser, but most tears are in the periphery and many of my patients notice no changes in their vision. Unfortunately, surgical/laser treatment is the only thing you can do, as the alternative is total blindness. I would personally take having a funky spot in my peripheral vision over having absolutely no vision, wouldn’t you?

Hey! I am a male 25 y/o, I have had floaters and flashes of light and I dilated my eyes and they checked the retina very carefully. I went to 2 different eye doctors and they both said that they saw a small hypopigmented spot on the retina in the left eye far up to the left corner. They don’t know what that means, I am asking you if you know what this hypopigmented spot could be? Is it a bigger chance to develop a retinal hole from that? Or is it normal and I should not care anymore?
@priyamalik13253 жыл бұрын
I am a female 20 y/o , i also had the same problems like you.Those spots could be lattice degeneration spots ,they so have a higher chance of forming retinal holes.I have one in each eye.The best you can do is keep an eye on your symptoms and get in checked atleast every 6 months.

I'm 21 years old and suddenly I started watching more floaters than before...I also see a lot of white dots moving on the sky if i look at the sky for a few moments...I also begun to see black sparkles if eye see from one eye...I am a myopic patient and suddenly I can't see near clearly and can't read properly...Today I consulted with a doctor and my eye pressure was 21 hgmm(left) and 24 hgmm(right)... Doctor told me that I have a hole at 2 o'clock at left eye and told me to do laser.....what should I do? I'm more worried about my eye pressure rather than that hole...Do I need to do laser immediately?

Last 2014 or 2015, I was diagnosed with a Lattice Degeneration on my left eye. I was advised to do a eye laser surgery. I did not follow the instruction as I was a University student at that time taking BS Industrial Engineering. According to my doctor and to this video, the symptoms of having a lattice degeneration is with a floaters. Around 2014 or 2015 to early 2018, I cannot hardly identify if I see floaters but I'm pretty sure that I can see some worms floating around my vision but not that clear. Mid 2018, I am working and I have a health insurance covering the procedure. I undergo an outpatient eye laser surgery and it was successful (I visited my Opthalmologist a week after). A day after the laser surgey, I can visibly identify the floaters around my vision. I did some research and its normal and the after effect of the procedure that was done on my left eye. At first, I was anxious and overly thinking as to whay is happening to my vision but later on I adopt. Last, June 2019 I had my first ever annual eye check up, luckily the procedure that was done last year was perfectly good as validated by a different Opthalmologist focusing on Retina and my eyes are completely fine. By the way, I am having myopia with astigmatism with 3.75 as my eye grade.
