I have a whole new appreciation for Armin Shimmerman after watching this interview. I really didn't care for all the digs Regis and Kathie had at the Quark makeup. I know they didn't know how to react to the makeup but I would've liked to express how impressive the creativity and skill behind creating the makeup than the comments about how repulsive Quark looks. I also used to think Quark looked gross but now view the makeup as a work of art.

Spock is #9? You suck so hard. If Spock is #2 and Kirk is #1 that's OK. Michael Eddington? What the actual fuck? Garak? I do love Garak. But top 10? And No Kirk? You are so very, very wrong.

The makers of "Discovery" should have watched this scene over and over and over and over. Until they took to heart the lesson that oftentimes, "less is more."

I often wondered if he left over the promotion or Wolf359. He never says anything like “Honor to serve with you Captain” but he also looks Picard in the face and doesnt seem scared, timid or upset except that it’s his last time on the ship

Captain Picard made a special, purposeful trip to the transporter room from the bridge to see Miles off, after being told he just missed him. He didn't have to do that.

havent seen this before but great scene. reminds me of when i left a job i was at for awhile and speaking to my manager (who was my mentor) before i left. you grow familiar with one another but you also know its time to part ways. but i always remember what i learnt from him and we still talk now and then

In a way, this foreshadowed another way O'Brien and Picard common relationship. Picard being a POW, of the Cardasians, lead to Federation control of DS9. In a future DS9 episode, O'Brien became a fellow Cardasian POW.

It is O’Brien. The captain would not have it any other way.

It's special little nuggets like these that make Trek... Trek. This is where new so called Trek fails miserably.
