Not much beats a 300 2 stroke in the lugging department. Although apparently the Beta 390 is impressive for a 4 stroke. Was really impressed with your hill climb effort on the 23 ktm 250xcf. It only stalled once and the stock gearing is pretty high.
@dirtbikesam
@dirtbikesam 11 сағат бұрын
Yeah hard to beat a 300 2-stroke. I have only ridden a Beta 390 in the desert, would love to try it on single track. Yeah I have been really really surprised how well the 23 KTM 250XCF does on more gnarly trails. It does start to stall more when I get it really really hot from going to slow but man it’s impressive. Probably should put a fan on it haha.

I would love to see how the Stic Super X carb on my 23 yz125x would go up that climb. It has such a wide linear power curve now that people think it's a 150! Riding steep technical climbs with little to no run up, it lugs up things so much easier than my factory keihin did with a lot less clutch needed. No bolt-on mod alone came close to the power increase from right off idle to over rev.
@dirtbikesam
@dirtbikesam 2 күн бұрын
Sounds like a cool carb. You do any other mods to your bike?
@patrickrushton2046
@patrickrushton2046 2 күн бұрын
@dirtbikesam , yes. After the impressive gains from the X carb, I got the power bug, I installed a TSP cylinder head with their ignition module, pro circuit pipe, and a yz125 power valve governor spring ( as its softer and opens faster compared to the 125x's, to reduce the 'hit') The gains from the other bolt ons only added a slight increase in power compared to what the X carb was able to achieve on its own, I would fit the X carb before a cylinder head, pipe change or big bore kit.

Regarding hard Enduro, watch Eddie Karlsson winning an extreme enduro event a couple of weeks ago with the Stark. I think he managed to do a couple of pivot turns as well. Also: Try the hand brake. It helps a lot with control. A clutch on that bike would probably introduce more issues than it would solve
@dirtbikesam
@dirtbikesam 7 күн бұрын
Yeah I have managed to do some smaller pivot turns and I’ll keep working on it. The power being so easy and linear really slows you to keep great traction without killing the bike or lighting up the rear wheel.

Jared from the 3 Seas Recreation channel and dealership indicated in his video that the RR X-Pro is going to replace the standard RR model. I don't know if he was speculating or that's what he was told as a dealer. He believes that the bike's suspension will be softer than the current RR model, something between the current RR and the XTrainer's suspension. Where I'm at, I don't see RRs being ridden. Folks on Betas either have a Race Edition model or an XTrainer. I wonder if that's a common thing everywhere. If so, it seems like the X-Pro models could replace the RR models and the XTrainer at the same time. I also wonder what this means for the RS models. Will they get the same suspension changes as the X-Pro if the RR models truly are discontinued?

@SamuelGunnestad 12 күн бұрын
I disagree about the quality of the plastics. I think they are quite good. I crashed into a tree in winter (temp about -5C) and bent the front fender all the way to the number plate without destroying the fender. That's quite impressive and I haven't seen that with my other bikes since the old Yamahas. (I've had Sherco SE 300 Factory, Beta Xtrainer and Yamah WR since then). What's a bit annoying about the plastics is that they are so shiny that you can see the wear

My first dirt biking experience was with my neighbor when I was 13. He was 17 and idolized him. He rode his 125 and put me on his 450. He left me behind on the trails after a short time and I tried to keep up. I rode over something that caused me to flip over the handlebars, the bike landed on top of me, and something on the bike punctured through my ankle. I walked back to his truck, blood pooling in my shoe, and waited. He got back and was pissed that I left his bike on the trail. I waited for him to collect his dirt bike, load up and then we drove back home. My parents then brought me to the hospital. He never forgave me for bending that bikes frame. That day still haunts me thinking about riding a dirt bike again. Maybe one day
