My dad and sister did this, but they took it up a notch. They bought a lab beaker with a rubber stopper, a supply of helium gas for party balloons, and used nichrome wire (the kind you find in classic 2-slot toaster or a hair dryer) hooked to an industrial AC rheostat to control AC voltage output. Rather than burning the nichrome wire, using helium, nitrogen, or any inert gas you can get from a welding, laboratory, or party supply store will force the standard atmospheric air out of the body of your lightbulb, forcing the oxygen out. The AC rheostat, while more dangerous than using direct current with batteries, gives you better variable voltage control with the higher current you need to produce a bright enough light. Different thicknesses of nichrome wire will determine how much current the circuit will draw, while voltage determines how long the element will light versus burning up and failing from thermal stress (exactly what happens to a normal incandescent bulb over thousands of cycles). You could try the same thing with a DC voltage divider for better safety, but you’d need some pretty hefty resistors if your element is fairly thick tungsten, nichrome, or some high enough carbon content for a resistivity where the bulk of your watts are burned up as light and heat instead of passing through the conductor and causing a short.

If a glacier the size of the Empire State Building was transported to Phoenix Arizona how long would it take to melt?
@KidsFunScience
@KidsFunScience 12 күн бұрын
First it would depend on the shape of the ice berg. Assuming it’s also the shape of Empire State Building. That means it will be very tall. The upper portions will have a negligible melt rate (at least at first). The lower portions will begin melting quickly, but will soon slow down. Even though the ground near the ice mountain is hot initially, it will cool down pretty rapidly as the ice absorbs all the ambient heat. In addition, the reflectivity of the ice will actually reduce the amount of solar heat being absorbed in the area. Over time the ice berg will change shape, due to the base melting much faster than the top. Eventually it will become unstable, and you’ll get a massive ice quake that topples the mountain (or at least a large part of it). That would be an amazing sight! The parts that fell off would then melt much faster after landing on the hot ground. Empire State Building is 1250 ft and High temperatures, glacier ice melts at a rate somewhere between 8-15 feet per day. So a guess would be 83 to 156 days, but once it fell over probably faster.

I have no idea what's going on in our environment..
@IamSouthBound
@IamSouthBound 21 күн бұрын
No, the reason this happens is the earth is a level plane that rises upwards at a constant rate. There's no RDD in free-fall. That's why the ping pong ball ceases to stay above the water, it's not being accelerated because in all cases of acceleration you get displacement. If that water, cup and ping pong ball was being accelerated towards earth at 9.8 meters per second squared the ball would be on the bottom of the cup, it's not. Put the ball in a sealed container of water and gas shake it in any direction, watch the ball hit the wall in the direction of acceleration. Tie a balloon to the floor of a car, tie an apple to the ceiling. Accelerate forwards.. the balloon goes forwards, the apple goes backwards. It's the same thing the balloon does if you release it on earth, it rises upwards. That's because the earth is a level plane that rises upwards at a constant rate. If you take a bottle of water with a cap, drop a floating object and a sinking object inside. Drop it, film it in slow motion. The rising object stops, the sinking object stops. When the bottle hits the ground or you catch it .. the sinking object resumes sinking, the floating object resumes rising. There's zero curvature to the earth no matter how high up you go without a fisheye lens, CGI or artist rendition. I know it's not easy to be told you've been lied to, it wasn't easy for myself and countless others since 2002 when we learned the truth. Countless observations, long distance sightings.. infra-red videos, high altitude balloons up to 120k with non-fisheye lenses all proved the earth is a level plane. Globers tried desperately to cling to the globe lie and pushed gravity ..thinking by dropping an object they prove gravity. It took this modern flat earth movement a while to look into gravity because the group known as the Flat Earth Society was being mentioned by Obama and John Kerry.. saying "We don't have time for a meeting of the flat earth society". This was done mockingly by design to get people to avoid the Flat Earth Society thinking it was dis-info. Instead most flat earthers just said Density and Buoyancy is why we stay on the ground or why things fall down. This allowed globers to ridicule the flat earthers in debates. Finally a researcher in Scotland began experimenting on his own and did the experiments I described to you with water, liquids and gas. He set out to prove objects are not being accelerated to the earth at 9.8 meters per second squared. He did just that with these experiments and not one globe earther has been able to prove gravity exists, they all just special plead and say gravity can magically grab liquids, gasses and solids turn them into one unit and accelerate them to the earth without any displacement. Not only can none of the globers prove gravity exists or isolate it.. but stationary flat earthers also find themselves in the same predicament. Stationary flat earthers think the Scottish researcher is disinfo because the Flat Earth Society has always said the earth is rising upwards, they also say it's a disk shape. We don't know the full dimensions of the earth without full exploration, we'd need to get beyond Antarctica. Another HUGE problem for the globe is that it HAS NEVER been circumanigated SOUTH TO NORTH .. down the center of Antarctica in a strict straight line.. to form a perfect slice down the center of the supposed cartoon ball.. like slicing an orange clean in half from top to bottom. All attempts to circumnavigate South to North are glorified EAST TO WEST LOOPS. Everything is on my channel, you could even join a live show with Beyond The Imaginary Curve when he's live. He invites globers and stationary flat earthers to join the show to discuss this topic. If you think you can prove gravity and the ball earth knock yourself out. You can't do it. I'd bet you any amount of money on an expedition SOUTH across Antarctica.. that there's more land and a 2nd sun that rotates above those land masses! I have footage of a 2nd sun filmed within Antarctica back in 2014. Globers filmed it.. they all were baffled and could only suggest it's Niburu! It's not.. it's a 2nd sun rotating over the magnetic center of a geothermal pond beyony Antarctica. The luminaries are all smaller and closer ..they rotate above the earth. Earth rises upwards, the clouds and luminaries all rise upwards as well, so before you try to say we'd hit the clouds, think deeper. All water on the earth seeks and maintains level, that would also be a result of the level earth rising upwards at a constant rate.

There's no RDD in free-fall. That's because the earth is a level plane that rises up at a constant rate. The globe earth model relies upon gravity which is an unproven mystical magical force. Gravity is supposed to be accelerating objects towards the earth at 9.8 meters per second squared. Gravity was the last nail in the coffin for the globe earth lie as countless observations since 2002 have proven that there's absolutely zero curvature to the earth. There's no mystical point where water is bending to conform to the exterior of a ball. Everything NASA and any other space agency shows is nothing but CGI and artist renditions done by photo realist painters. Nowadays NASA has gotten much more advanced with what they can do with computers and they have been desperately trying to produce footage to support the ball earth lie because they know the flat earth movement has destroyed the globe earth and they can't allow the truth to go viral, this is why the movement was censored by KZfaq in 2018. Your experiment here clearly highlights that the earth is rising upwards at a constant rate because only when the cup of water with the ping pong ball hits the ground does buoyancy return. You and everything else are attached to the earth so from your perspective when you drop something you say it's "falling" you think it's accelerating to earth, it's not. Objects that are dropped regardless of height are decelerating and the earth with everything attached to it will eventually meet the object dropped. Grab a water bottle with a cap on it, it should have water and gas inside the bottle, accelerate it in any direction you will get displacement. Now hold it out in front of you and drop it, film it.. you will get no displacement. To believe in gravity you are then special pleading for a force that can grab on to liquids, solids and gas turning them to one unit to accelerate them towards the earth at the same rate. Now grab that bottle, drop a floating object and a sinking object like a pebble.. drop it.. film it in slow motion. The floating object stops rising (such as a bubble) the sinking object such as a pebble stops sinking. When the bottle hits the earth, or if you catch it, the objects resume their motion, whether it was sinking or rising upwards in the water. Now tie a helium balloon to your car floor, hang an apple from the ceiling. Accelerate your car forwards, which way did the balloon go? It went forwards in the direction of the acceleration. The apple goes backwards. So this basic observations shows you what accelerating does, you get displacement, there's no way around that. If you sit in a car and accelerate you get heavier. We get our weight because of motion, we are resisting the upward vector of the earth. The earth is rising at a constant rate, it's not accelerating. Earth is a level plane, it's NOT stationary like many flat earthers want to believe wile citing density and buoyancy as the reason for things to stay planted on the ground. If earth was stationary we'd all rise upwards, it's be chaotic. I have many videos showing these experiments regarding gravity, I even have one done at the NASA Glenn Research Center drop tower. Students were dropping objects from a 78 foot tower. One of the most interesting is the helium balloon being dropped 78 feet tied to the inside of the box and released in the box automatically at the start of the drop. The balloon stays in place until the box hits the ground, it then goes upwards towards the top of the box. Take a look at my channel, everything you need to learn about is there. The globe earth model is a lie, it's not easy to accept this fact at face value, you can only do the observations and prove it for yourselves. Everyone that discovers this truth went through all the denial and tried to prove the globe over and over. I did that back in 2014, I could not find proof of the globe. Now gravity has been completely destroyed, but at this point the entire movement is censored into the abyss. All that's left is getting past Antarctica because earth was never circumnavigated South to North is a straight line, it can't be done. I and many others including the NASA whistleblower (Hyper Realist Painter) who started this modern awakening in 2002 expect to find more land beyond Antarctica, that land having its own sun that rotates above it around a magnetic center just like our own. I have footage of that 2nd sun on my channel. That footage was obtained in 2014 by globe earth proponents who were baffled watched two suns pass the camera, only one casting a shadow. They all wanted to say it's Niburu. It's not.. it's a 2nd sun over hidden lands South of Antarctica. This is why we are all prevented from going across Antarctica. You are only able to access the peninsula of Antarctica, that's it.

@KidsFunScience

Good Morning @zzes9561, The USDA says, An egg can float in water when its air cell has enlarged sufficiently to keep it buoyant. This means the egg is old, but it may be perfectly safe to use. Crack the egg into a bowl and examine it for an off-odor or unusable appearance before deciding to use or discard it. A spoiled egg will have an unpleasant odor when you break open the shell, either when raw or cooked. thanks Ken

This can be very confusing for many clever children (and people), because as stated, there is an air pressure forcing on each inch of the bottle, so if the cap is off, there is "mostly" the same pressure forcing on top of the water and the same pressure forcing on the side hole ... so there is an equilibrium and nothing should happen (in terms of air pressure). What drives the water out of the bottle is the pressure of the water above the side hole and gravity, not the air pressure. So beware of such wrong information, that can seem to be right.

Good Morning @user-pu2mx8jf9z, Sorry but I only check comments once a week. I hope you were able to find the information you needed. This info below was in the details on this experiment. Now I blew up a balloon, and rubbed it across my hair (freshly washed hair works best). Now we have a negatively charged the balloon. You can test your balloon by seeing if it will raise the hairs on your arm, if it can then your ready. If not rub the balloon more on your hair. If you don’t want to rub it on your hair, try your dog they love it. With my balloon negatively charged and bring it closer to the cup..... The toothpick moves. The positively centered toothpick is attracted to the negatively charged balloon, which makes the toothpick rotate and swing atop the coin!
