hey random teenager reading this somehow, take this advice from a middle eastern raised late 20s guy in a narcissistic most dysfunctional family: Don't go the rebel teen way, learn to be calm, don't raise your voice don't get angry and never never never raise a hand, just learn to go along with your parents, avoid conflicts, feed their ego, give them whatever the fuck version of respect they want, learn how to go on with your life doing what you love while treating them how they wanna be treated until you can be fully independent financially socially etc. use them until you can bail out, and respect them no matter who unjustifiably bad they are to you, consider it your rent and food payments for the time being, your ego will only harm you.

All these kids in the comments not realizing some of these parents are over whelmed and they aren’t making anything easier. When you’re a parent all choices in it are wrong no matter what. You think you know your child until they start lying and hiding things breaking that trust they had for you starts with the child. I’m not saying all parents are in the right. Put yourself in their shoes maybe you’ll learn a thing or two.

A kid can't be disrespectful to his/her family. They feed you, they make you to sleep under a roof. I know these are a parents responsibilities but calling your mom by her first name is weird. PS:im a kid too.
