Mi esposa y yo vamos hiking en Utah cerca de Salt Lake City. Una pregunta? How would you say We went hiking today. Or we’re going for a hike. My wife is from Mexico but she uses subir. Rick
@thriveinspanish4 күн бұрын
Sí, usamos mucho la palabra subir para decir que estamos subiendo una montaña. Tú también puedes decir: We went hiking today: Fuimos a hacer senderismo hoy, hicimos una caminata hoy. We’re going for a hike - Vamos a ir a hacer senderismo o, vamos a hacer una caminata.

Makes me wonder if it is "normal" to say it wrong like a common slang, or is it just a complete error, both in respect to the official language and to the way people speak. I think one has to learn both to be able to really know a language, both the right way and the wrong way that people still use and some sort of agree upon.

Please do a video on different accents/pronunciations. For example some people say "plaga" instead of "playa". Where are these people from? Or I know in Cuba pronunciation in different, I think they do not pronounce the "s" as much if I remember well.

Hola. Estoy aquí aprendiendo español. Gracias por este video. Prefiero si no hables nada de inglés porque toma tiempo en que no escuchamos español. Me gusta tu acento y quiero escuchar más. Chao desde Carolina del Norte.

She worries too much - ¿Solo "mucho" expresa "too much"? ¿Se puede decir "demasiado"?
@thriveinspanishАй бұрын
Demasiado realmente es la traducción. Entonces demasiado es mejor aunque mucho no suena mal.

By the way, that impersonal nature of Spanish also shows up in phrases like “Me Gusta“ and “me Allegra“ and “me encanta” where in English we are more likely to say “I like””…
