I am in love with this composition which I did not know until I heard Edith Yam play it at Methuen Memorial Music Hall last week in a concert. It was the first time I ever heard it and was blown away by it. Since then, I have been searching out other performances of it and started exploring other Schmidt music. I love your interpretation and virtuosity. What a fun piece to listen too. Love the themes. Reminds me of Reger until the end where it evolves into chaos. Schmidt was crazy in a good way. Exciting playing!!

Maestro Roth always reminds me of a mad eccentric alchemist when he’s registering for guest organists. He knows the instrument and its idiosyncrasies, and by Jove, it will behave itself in front of guests! Just wonderful!

Un tempo très (trop ?) rapide. La virtuosité est exceptionnelle mais les phrases musicales sont par moment quasi inaudibles comme dans la Toccata finale. Quel incroyable travail pour interpréter des pièces aussi difficiles, bravo !

You should at least mention the name of the organbuilder. Looks like a very resistant , endurable instrument.

Very finely played Widor, nice sharp attack on the notes, but it really should be a bit slower. Wonderful sound from this great organ! Especially the HUGE pedal voices! Great to see Maestro Roth again! Thank you Wayne!! Greetings from Canada!

Very nice. Though i would have loved you to give a bit more weight to the runs in the prelude. Some notes in some of the runs didnt have enough time.

Thanks so much for this. Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring has been a bit of a thing with me recently - Daniil Trifonov came to Strasbourg to do a Rachmaninov concert, and after all the noise and passion of the concerto (4th), he sat down and played this piece of Bach. And now I come across you improvising it, a few days after the truly wonderful new year concert in Strasbourg (thank you so much for that, it was amazing. I used to listen to the Gershwin piano concerto obsessively, so every note was deep in my memory, except, of course, for that spectacular cadenza.) Come back to Strasbourg asap!!

Splendide improvisation. Certains organistes français devraient en prendre de la graine, il y en a marre des impo ultra dissonantes au goût du jour qui cassent les oreilles des auditeurs.

Look at the tempo sign, man. There's a speed limit of 76, you go at least 140. Waaay too quick. This one is misterious, emerging from nothing and getting back there. It's not a race, not and energetic music. Also, waay to early with the reeds in the main crescendo. Also, there's a decrescendo, not a subito p for the last page... Man, try to stick to the ideas of Kodály, instead of pressing your own beliefs.
