Oh well, here is the trick. Buy a set of jeans/denim machine needles before starting your project if you don't want to break your universal sewing needle.

I used to use heavy shears like that until i discovered Japanese shears. Shozaburo Tobasami are the best ive ever used 🇯🇵

Exactly what I was looking for to sew a new cover for my hot water bottle to insert from the top 🥳🤗The velcro closure is a nice add-on, but I was fine with mine not having that. I managed to sew a cover on my own today without any pattern or tutorial, just trying to copy the original cover without really knowing what I was doing, but just going for it. It wasn't bad and I could totally have used it as it was, but I kept playing and ended up having it way too tight. I also wasn't quite happy with the neck opening. I cut the fabric a bit too close here and I skipped sewing the elastic in before sewing back and front of the cover together😆The arm of my sewing machine being too large, the opening did of course not fit onto it to sew it on later. Same problem for the hemming of the neck opening 🤣which I was able to zig zag along nonetheless. Good thing I have enough fabric left to make a couple more covers 😅Thank you for your video, it just showed what was needed and clearly so. Showing it on a lighter coloured fabric might have been easier for viewers with weaker eyesight or if someone wants to watch on a small smartphone screen I'd think. Well done 👏
