I made the video based on equipment purchased in New Zealand which operates at 240 Volts 50 Hz. I cannot see that the fault and solution would be specific to the UK nor NZ. Note I implemented the solution almost 10 years ago so the tv technology may have improved. Nevertheless, I recently stayed in a house in the USA that had a modern Marantz receiver as the amplifier connected via HDMI to a Sony TV set. I was surprised to note EXACTLY the same kind of lip sync failure.

Both Chrysler and Peugeot did very well out of the deal, for reasons not explained here. Both firms did not know how to build front wheel drive cars. The Simca 1307 (aka chrysler Alpine) and Horizon filled this knowledge gap. The Peugeot 405 was an Alpine with a very good Peugeot Motor and Peugeot suspension and a flash Pinnefarina body. Drive both side by side today they feel similar. The 405 more refined with the better motor. However it is east/west slanted over like the Simca/Alpine. In the states the Simca/Chrysler Horizon was also given strut suspension and a 2.2 litre engine. This gave chrysler a small car to sell in the 80s and early 90s which saved the company. Eventually they enlarged it make the K-series range. Both firms did amazingly well out of a design that started life as the Simca 1100 in the 1960s At a $1 it was bargain for both companies

I bought a brand new 405 in 1992 £12,000 and a second hand one 1999 £3800 nice to know they were built in Britain both with sunroofs the 1769 diesel was fast and comfortable with good supportive seats and suspension, large boot with spare very conveniently outside underneath.

The Hillman minx was Very much better than the Ford Cortina/Austin/Cambridge very solidly build in comparison n the super minx n the Humber scepter where best in their class if u stepped out of a cortina into a hillman the difference was very obvious really stunning that company Never deserved to go down their cars where n felt very solid n well build, If u had a flat tyre n jacked up the side of the Cortina/corsair you could Not open the door as the bodyshell was flexing that much Not on the Hillman Americans market things much better than the British Best shaving blade in the 60s by Far was Wilkinson sword blade Gillette was nothing as good but look at them now, what Holland n Barrett did to all the local health shops most run bu families with a Huge knowledge of the products they where selling Just hope Gulpeppers in Bruton square (west end) are still going as that is was the oldest Herbalist shop in Europe the late Nino's Haelan centre i still going in crouch end thank God Most British gear was excellent British marketing was sadly Not I hate this cause the best does not win

I'm from the analogue times... Let's say... I too believed that the digital new era would "save all the world's problems relating sound and vision", but here we are: It solved the problems of a few (Apple, Sony, Philips, Samsung, big company's share holders, etc...) and created even more problems to the vast majority of all of us... :p

passing all the audio through the TV first is not recommended. Firstly, you are losing a lot of functionality that having an HDMI receiver gains you. Secondly, a lot of TVs don't pass-through multi-channel encoded audio, so you'll likely lose sources of 5.1 sound and similar.

Well, splitting the signals (sound, video) may be the cause of your problem. Using the solution I propose is a modest outlay - about $30 - 50 $AU I recall. If that doesn't work, then you are up for a fancy box that adjust the audio and video sync on a per programme basis. Check this out, for instance: lip-sync error? Felston DD740.

My configuration WAS AV Component from DVR to TV (video) and from DVR to stereo receiver (audio) - no lips isnk issues. Then I bought a 3D tv - have to use HDMI. SO my new configuration is DVR to TV - HDMI (Video) and same DVR to Stereo receiver - AV component (audio) - this causes the lip sinc issue. With video in front of audio. To make things more difficult - the monitor is in the great room, connected to the receiver and components in the basement/man cave.

It's the new digital technology that sometimes contributes to creating the lipsync problem. The digital technology, like your Panasonic Plasma, does lots of clever processing of the video signal before displaying it! The CRT TV displayed the signal as it was broadcast in near real time! .... no place/space to store the video signal in a CRT-TV, unlike modern technologies. Hence my proposed solution to the problem using the digital audio output from the TV
@PeterMellalieu
@PeterMellalieu 11 жыл бұрын
I need to understand the configuration you have set up. Are you taking your audio signal from the digital/optical output of your TV, or from your original signal generating source? Carefully observe a variety of input sources: DVD, BlueRay, TV, video camera. Probably an AV signal from a vid cam recording of someone up close speaking may be your best source to check what's going on. Reason: Sometimes the satellite/cable broadcasters and DVD recordings transmit audio and video out of sync!!!
@grandstrand
@grandstrand 11 жыл бұрын
My problem is the lips move BEFORE the audio - the video is being transmitted by HDMI, and the audio seems SLOWER thru audio cables. To make things more interesting, I just upgraded to HDMI - and the monitor is a good 75 feet from the receiver. You know, to get that clean look of just a monitor in the great room, while the components are all in the man cave. So - rerouting tv audio to the receiver would be a huge expense and problem. Don't newer TVs provide video/audio delay adjustments?

Will most modern home cinema recievers/amps get rid of the lipsync problem?? I have a new Panasonc Plasma, and my old Technics 1980s amp has a slight sync problem. No problem before on my wonderful CRT tv.
