Here is the biggest question youll ever have to answer. What radio is in that UTV hooked up to the antenna?
@circlepfarm37763 күн бұрын
I’ve kind of wondered if anyone noticed that. It is a Retevis RT95. The antenna is a GMRS antenna for local use. I plan to (some day) put a HAM antenna on it also.
@matthewcarroll31932 күн бұрын
@@circlepfarm3776 I have a HAM and GMRS license. I think GMRS is fantastic for the farm community, especially when paired with a repeater! Do you have you HAM ticket?

What kind of wormer do you recommend for sheep.
@circlepfarm37763 күн бұрын
I use Cydectin AND Valbazen. Give a full dose of each. One right after the other, do not mix them in the drench gun. I also use COWP (copper oxide wire particles). I never give this more than once a year. Anything that needs that type treatment will be brought back to a healthy condition, then sold into the meat market after recommended withdrawal time. I won’t sell them to individuals.

I wonder if giving antibiotics will affect the ewes ability to develop immunity from the CDT vaccine?
@circlepfarm3776Ай бұрын
You bring up a good point. My concern was ending up with a bunch of lambs born dead. The CDT injection I give the ewes is to help them pass it to the lambs. I can give CDT directly to the lambs later if necessary. Thanks for watching.
@practicalsheepmanАй бұрын
@@circlepfarm3776 I booster my ewes like you due just prior to lambing. I don't vaccinate and booster my lambs until they are about 3 1/2-4 months old. If there are maternal antibodies present in the lambs when vaccinating you won't get a good immune response to the CDT vaccine. If you do vaccinate the lambs early you might consider doing two more rounds 3 weeks apart before putting the lambs on feed. CDT vaccine is cheap compared to dead lambs.

My father in law bought a new 674D in 1973 to celebrate me marrying his last daughter! I still got the daughter and the tractor! ;) Nice diesel tractor, and fairly easy to work on also. I had a front end loader installed years ago, and it's like having 4 hired hands for this old man! 😉

@circlepfarm3776Ай бұрын
@@MagaRickn I have not tried fixing the leaks from the steering. Mine leaks some from the actual steering pump below the steering wheel but not bad enough to try tearing the pump apart. Hopefully you can just replace the lines. If I do decide to tear into mine, I will definitely make a video of it.

Started to work at a sheep farm this year and looked up good hoof trimmers, funnily enough I found a video you did 2 years ago in regards of maintaining them. Will go for the ARS, they're made in Japan which is a heck of a lot better than some random Chinese made product. The hoof boss is interested, alas we are not big enough yet to warrant such an expensive buy, also being in the EU makes the shipping + import cost a bit high. :P
@circlepfarm3776Ай бұрын
The ARS trimmers are good ones. I suggest getting a couple of them if you can that way you can rotate trimmers between sheep and let the one pair soak in disinfectant. Thanks for watching and I hope it was helpful.

Other than this issue with the steering cylinder leak (which I hope is fixed by using the correct O ring). I’ve only had one other problem. The brake design is pretty bad. You have to disassemble the whole rear end of the tractor to replace the brakes.

@@circlepfarm3776 Do you have a method you use to train them to the hot wire?
@circlepfarm37764 ай бұрын
@@rafterh2181 My lambs are exposed to a hot wire from birth, so that helps. I try to maintain at least 8000 volts on the fence, start with 3 or 4 strands and cull the ones that are trouble. Mine will probably stay behind a single wire but I generally use two when separating pastures and three when using it for perimeter fencing. The main thing is to keep the fence HOT and their bellies full.
