This only makes sense if the solar system can offset 100% of the electrical bill. This might work for some people if your power company lets you sell excess back to them. Otherwise, you're looking at $30,000-$80,000+ of batteries to make up during the night and cloudy days. If you can sell excess back you'll only get half of what you pay per kwhr, if you're lucky. Also the amount of solar panels you'll need to negate your total usage is usually double or triple what they try to sell you. This is not to mention the predatory practices of some companies selling $50,000 systems in low income areas when the home is only worth $25,000. So many people have lost their homes from solar panel companies John Oliver dedicated an entire show to inform the public how poor of a decision this could be. Hiring someone to do this after multiple quotes, and paying outright, you'll see benefits after 7-10 years, and you will save money in the long term, but investing that money elsewhere will make you more over time.

I had signed all the paperwork for sunpower on May 2024.. last month they came and put the panels on my roof and now they are just sitting there and they can't turn them on and I can't do anything cause I have to wait until they figure out whats going on... I would like to know if I can cancel so I can look for another company???

Sunpower is/was a very good solar company. Their solar panels are the world's best. There is no argument about their panels. It is very unfortunate that they went bankrupt. Mostly due to excessive operational costs and losses thru maintaining systems, cost of doing business etc. Otherwise they were the best. Very sad to see them go.

I sell for Sunrun been in the industry 10 years. We were selling our fixed ppa at .33 per kwh and i would be competing at Sunpowers .11 per kwh. Now it makes sense the price difference. Mind you the utility is charging .50ish per kwh in this market im speaking of. The margin exists for the company to prosper and the customer to still benefit. Bye bye Sunpower.

Kept head up and got another one on the same street yesterday. It closed today! Dry spell for 3 weeks to 3 bills in two days. Y’all can do it. Just seek the LORD. I DIDNT DO IT ALONE. Support system is important! I put GOD first. Wife second. Kids. Job. Everything will fall into place when you get your priorities right.

I was having SunPower installed. Just got called from the installer and they wanted to install different panels (365W to 405W). I questioned about Sunpower. The system will no longer be SunPower and they want me to sign a new contract. I told them to send me the contract and I will get back to them. I might be looking for a new company.

If you set, DON'T overspeak at doors! I NEVER promise anything that is 1. Dishonest, 2. Too complex. It is enough to talk about: net metering program, how much power they use on average (monthly), BS a small bit, TELL THEM WHO YOU ARE and don't LIE! They will turn you down if they turn you down, but don't let it be because you were a chump that couldn't understand how it works! PITCH should be a couple minutes. Who are you? What are you doing? Why are you doing that? Simple as fuck! No need to lie. NEM 3 sucks! It is a big reason why a lot of us went to sell elsewhere. I am in the NW now, and it works!
