What a brilliant example of how not to sail and complete ignorance of the rules….example squeeze a boat with right of way and shout at him when your in the wrong not allowing him his right of way! I laughed my head of at this crew’s stupidity but most of the fault where the helms!

We won a race at that event. Not sure which race. Might have been the 5th. Very competitive J24 fleet in the UK. EDIT: It was the last race.

Looks like your biggest crew is on the wrong side of the boat constantly during maneuvers. Also Jesus, those boots are horrendous.

Yep - weird place for a sheeter to be in a tack. But don't knock the boots. Great grip. Doesn't matter what they look like 🙂

Headsail security at the end how on earth do you expect your mast man to be able to raise the halyard when the guy on the sheet has the headsail cranked down? And he is so clueless that he smiling like he is doing nothing wrong.

I miss this sport, did a lot of J24 racing in Tx back in earlier 90’s.

Watch the tiller movements going upwind, oversteer is very slow. Also try to stay out of the back of the boat especially during maneuvers, it tends to swing the ass end out pretty aggressively causing you to slide more than turn

It was shot using a Sony action camera HDR-AS30V and used the Sony s/w to insert the speed and track overlay. Final tidy up using Adobe premiere. Hope this helps. Thanks for asking.

Muy buenos tacks, en valle de bravo, México. Sueltan primero la genovésa y hasta después se pasan y cazan... Pero en este video es técnica, agilidad y condición de los Veleristas 😎👍🏽

wow......so....that is why you turn DOWN out of a Jibe....never up. That broach at 3 min is on the skipper, not the crew. Also.....any plans to do your penalty turns? Reminder folks, fouling someone happens to even the best, but DO YOUR TURNS!!!!!!!!

Headsail security at the end was the best part. I laughed my ass off. Three times. I don't know whether the halyard uses a cam cleat or regular on this boat but it's pretty sad to have it come loose with regularity.

Not a lot of communication between the crew...pretty painful to watch. Try watching some top sailors and see the difference. I imagine this boat was well back in the fleet.

Hey. I hope you don't mind, what's the meaning of protest in this scenario? And what's the protest flag?
@telimarkskierman
@telimarkskierman 3 жыл бұрын
@@theanantshukla a protest is basically one boat accusing another of breaking a rule, typically a right-of-way issue. The protest flag is a flag which notifies the race committee/officials of a protest. It's usually a red flag or somtimes a red and yellow striped flag.

From the video, it looked like his main had filled, so he'd completed his tack. Which makes you the windward boat and the one who should keep clear? Also dialing down on a tacking boat is probably not going to get you much traction in a protest room as their act of tacking is a "keep clear " manoeuvre and you're not giving them proper opportunity to keep clear.
