When flushing my engines docked at Marina in the water , do I need to trim up the engines or can I leave them vertical (lower unit submerged) ??

Engines can be flushed tilted out of the water or with the lower units submerged. The flush system will still address the cooling passages within the powerhead and midsection, even when the engine is partially in the water.

Do you know how I can use my chartplotter GPS SOG to feed the speedometer instead of the pitot, which isn't working?

Depending on your chartplotter model and which version of gauges you have, you may be able to use NMEA0183 to share speed data from the chartplotter to the speedometer. We recommend gathering some details and reaching out to Mercury Marine product support to discuss your options. The necessary information needed will be the version of gauges you have (upon gauge startup the version flashes on the bottom of the screen) and the make/model of the chartplotter you're using. The Active Trim unit will enter setup mode upon installation and powering up. While on the water, you'll follow the instructions provided with the kit to set your profiles, and the system will then remember them going forward.

Having two 300hp motors (especially when going far off shore) is much safer than a single 600hp motor! If one 300 happens to break down... the other 300 will get you back to shore. Even though there are other drawbacks with owning two rather than one. But, I'll opt for the higher safety option any day.
