Fun fact, the Germans somewhat disliked the Spitfire's awful energy retention. I do also dislike the Spitfire's awful energy retention. Hence I fly Griffon-Spits, which, for some reason do retain their energy better.

I feel like if Germans reversed engineered it then put their own technology into it, they would have succeeded in beating the Brits
@Brazmann0214 күн бұрын
Gaijin shall not know about this. Otherwise they will put it in warthunder as a premium and that will be yet another "operational captured vehicle" like the p47 and il2.

I'm also pretty sure this is when they found out the RAF was using a higher octane fuel to counter that they were still using carburetors while the Luftwaffe was using fuel injection

By the looks of it, if thats an accurate model, they also changed the cockpit to be more like the BF-109, the spitfire had what I like to call the bubble canopy, which is essentially the canopy has a more rounded shape in it, where as that model is more blocky

This is true if you want to fly one for free I recommend playing a game called war thunder. War thunder is a game where you can play as ships, planes, tanks, etc. My tip for planes is go for the US tech tree or the German but I’m not your parent so pick any national you want and play. This is not a sponsor or anything but just to help people who wants to fly these planes for free.

My great grandfather crash landed his spitfire in Germany, he landed in a minefield and the tail was blown off. He fired a flare into the cockpit which is what you were instructed to do if you went down. I wonder why that pilot didn’t?

The flying brick. There was a general at Davis Monthan who would fly his to air shows and that’s what he called the plane. Even at slow speeds it would drop out of the sky if it lost an engine. No glide capabilities whatsoever. 😂

And this is why you destroyed your plane when you land on enemy Lines. Because that can happen.

Lockheed Martin secured the initial production contract for the F-22 Raptor with a payment of $862 million to complete the first lot of 10 aircraft. Hope this helps!

One of the first experiments with circular wings. a shame they are bad at directional stability or we might have seen some fighters using them. And as big targets they make bad bombers
@Cat_gaming37Ай бұрын
With the wings fighters would just be a flying target lol
@glenmcgillivray4707Ай бұрын
@@Cat_gaming37 with a combination of low drag and high lift, maneuver ability is good. With circular wings a little bit of sideslip just offers more lift regardless. So you can fly fast and turn quickly. Roll authority wasn't great, and neither was Yaw. But my goodness could you pitch well. Again, with two out of three axis of control challenging at best, they took off fine but never got adopted by anyone.

Pretty sure the plane shown is the namesake of Ye Olde Pub. The actual plane was too shot up to be repaired and was scrapped. The true story that the namesake evokes however, is amazing...

@warped-slideruleАй бұрын
@@LiamMcfarlane-wi4ht perhaps, but online info goes either way and is ambiguous. makes more sense to not waste all the maintenance man hours on a compromised air frame. planes with much less damaged were scrapped for man power reasons. brutal air war with brutal work hours to keep the birds flying. some of the longest, hardest, dirtiest hours of labor in entire war were aircraft maintenance. the air crews fought and died, while the maintenance crews just kept endlessly working to the bone. those guys are not honored enough...
