I know this video is kinda old HOWEVER I actually just got home from a dance rehearsal for this song for my school's production of Anastasia! The whole time Vlad is just kinda in awe of the crowd and it's great there's also one part where all of the reporters cross in front of him and spin him all around and then Lily comes in to save him and it's great. Also I really love your art style!!!! This is exactly how i imagine the characters and their personalities in my head and it's awesome how you animated those personalities!!!!

The way at the end they both do something their fathers would never allow, especially after trying to claim themselves as them. Anastasia forgiving and Gleb not killing her

The romanovs were monsters. I know it's easy to idolize then, especially as the house the Bolsheviks built is currently trying to start WWIII, but the Romanovs were not better. I like how the play maintains that the royals were no saints, and yet equally maintains that killing the children was too cruel an act. So, the play asks, if this situation DID happen, what would be the ethical thing to do? Gleb wrestles with this question the entire play, and even here, at his most self-assured, you can feel the conflict storming within. What, really, has this girl done? What right does he have to kill her? Gleb is such a good antagonist. Not a villain. Just a good man who thinks he's doing the right thing

3 years later but I'm still thinking of this. "But it's the silence after that I remember most/The world stopped breathing/And I was no longer a boy" followed by "...but I believe he did a proud and noble task" so perfectly captures a man who recognizes the horror that his father wrought, but denies that horror by convincing himself that his father did something good because he can't stand the alternative

Thus gives human feelings to ghe Romanovs killers and in fact the head killer was so messed up afterwards and he hated how his men were desecrated thier bodies and he felt true remorse for his part in thier deaths! Gleb im glad gave us a flawed antagonist with conflicting emotions and a story behind him and his arc...more then Rasputin!

Could you possibly do Land Of Yesterday? That's one of my favorite songs in the musical. My high school did Anastasia and it was a huge success. I played the most characters, and I was in Land of Yesterday, it's a very fun song.

1:35 I’m guessing the girl with ribbons in her hair is Maria, Olga is the girl close to the back with her parents and the girl Tatiana is the one sitting down next to Alexei. Please tell me if I’m wrong 😅

Gleb's hatred is understandable. Nikolai II and Alexandra Feodorovna had committed many crimes against the Russian people (father and mother of Anya). But their children are not to blame. That caused his inner struggle.

They didn't but the execution of the Romanov family was done more in desperation than a planned event, they were likely being kept alive for political reasons in Yekaterinburg for a while (probably to eventually try them in Moscow more publicly) but the Czechoslovakian Legion (almost entirely by accident) was moving in on the city. The Bolsheviks were terrified that if the Legion found the Romanov's they would rescue them which would endanger the legitimacy of their government, so all of them were killed right then and there to make sure that couldn't happen.

It's interesting to see such a neat animation as this especially if you haven't seen the show and probably never will get the opportunity to. Also, does anyone think Ramin Karimloo sounds a bit like Hugh Jackman in this, that slight tenor strain thing?

My school is preforming Anastasia in like… 2 weeks- But the guy playing Gleb is really good at his role. Yesterday we went through act two and at this scene Arthur (Gleb) yelled the last line instead of singing it and everyone stopped because it was so raw and filled with emotion. It threw our Anya off too and she nearly forgot her lines
