2 lbs heavier of emission control and plastic on average. I'll stick to the ms180 at 8.6# powerhead for light weight and simple reliability

Well put. All I want to say is The Bad Boy is a lot better machine than Kubota zero turn. BB uses about half the gass as my new Kubota. I wished I had stayed with BB. Low maintenance also.

Currently own a 2011 Scag Turf Tiger, I think I’ll pass on Yakta for now. From southern Minnesota, my nearest Yakta dealer is 180 miles away in Iowa, North Dakota over 300 miles or Manitoba, Canada over 450 miles. Good luck in further development and sales, competition is good

Really like how practical your reviews are. Mallard+5's early reviews and "friendly user trial" info on the smaller HP variant were promising. A real 6-post cab is truly amazing on this machine. Now the decision between MT3-series deluxe vs. MT2-series deluxe.
@HomesteadBandwagon
@HomesteadBandwagon 2 күн бұрын
I was a little apprehensive about ordering the MT2 cab for the dealership. The previous cabs had a few things that bugged me quite a bit. Now that we took the plunge, I'm really impressed! The design is very forward thinking. Our personal tractor is an MT3 series with an open station. We didn't go with the cab because of a few ergonomic issues. I've got plenty of customers who like the MT3 cab, on the other hand. Everyone is just a little different. DEFINITELY try both of them out. If the 3 series is comfortable to you, I'd definitely go for it. They're a GREAT machine

Grass heads out once a year, legumes once a month or so... so think about a plants vegetative stage vs its reproductive stage, the majority of growth happens in the former.... continuing to cut grass before it heads out for the year will not allow it to reach that reproductive stage, forcing it to keep growing rather than stalling out to make seeds

I got about 5 acres that was nothing but bushes and weeds when i bought it. I started mowing every week for one season to kill the weeds and bush. Now i just mow every other week sometimes 3 weeks and the grass is growing good.

I don't have a ton of digging to do, but whenever I HAVE had to, pulling up shrubs, getting a rock out, drainage, etc., it sure would have been nice to have a little backhoe to save my back.

So much bad info in this you never need to mow no matter what is growing there. Put a few cows on there and rotate them around followed up by goats for the black berries. The thistle says your are short calcium. It's a tap rood plant that brings up a lot of calcium. Ground can never be healthy without ruminates.

@@HomesteadBandwagon sell that tractor and brush hog. That will cover the electric net fence by a goat every month kinda like put a 100 in the savings account. Sell the billy kids the next spring and pick up a cow. Save your nanny kids to build a herd every year things speed up a little faster. How would I know o done did just that now 200 cows and 1k goats on land they payed for. Anyone can do anything just have to take proper steps to do so
@HomesteadBandwagon
@HomesteadBandwagon 5 күн бұрын
@Andrew-sanders sounds real nice in theory, but everyone and their brother is doing goats out here. They don't touch the blackberries and the market is flooded with goats. We use the tractor to earn money, so we'd be taking a hit there. We'll be bringing in sheep eventually, but it's defintely not in the cards yet

Thanks. I pull a Rhino TS10 at 10" height usually every 4 wks or so, razor-sharp blades, low PTO RPM & higher gear - fast & works great over 30 acres of pastures. Grasses able to keep invasives in check. As always, thanks. God bless you & God bless America. TFS

Thanks for the info. i've been mowing yearly on some of my roughage if you will. i can see doing it every month Wish i could afford a flail mower as you can cut it a little shorter or get a more even cut on the grasses. Plus it cuts vines and saplings better.

Going from a smaller frame tractor to a larger frame tractor, with the same horsepower, could be the solution for many people. In tractors, weight is your friend. My experience is to do lots of research before buying the first tractor, then learn from using it, to determine what to buy for the second tractor.

Great points. I am on the fence also. Looking at a 36HP tractor, box blade, forks- and that backhoe adds another $8,000 that I may or may not be able to justify. BUT is adds a lot to my monthly payment too. May skip the BH.

I had problems when I first purchased my post hole digger. I found the auger was extremely difficult to muscle around. There are many pinch points with this implement. I use a pulley system to lift most of the weight, I lift just above the auger. I then attach Top link then the lift arms. I really like your kickstands, I’ll have to build a pair. Thanks for a boatload of very practical advice. Be safe. Greetings from Maine.
