Technically, none of these are classified as a "car". If a 3 wheeled vehicle is steered by a steering wheel, it is classified as an "autocycle"; if by handlebars, then it is classified as a "motorcycle".
@Techwowofficial8 сағат бұрын
You're absolutely right. It's just that most people aren't familiar with the term "autocycle," so they search for "three-wheeled cars" instead. I've used it here to make it more relatable for a larger audience. Thanks for pointing that out though! Appreciate it! 👍🏼

First is the price of the Wingam $110 k in the US, it was listed at $142k. What is the power for off grid? No mention of generator, there is no TVor microwave
@Techwowofficial13 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing those insights! Pricing can vary, so it's good to have updated info. As for off-grid power, it's crucial. While some campers opt for generators, others prioritize solar panels or lithium batteries. And hey, sometimes it's nice to unplug and enjoy nature without TV or microwave distractions, right?
@roslolian1112 күн бұрын
Wingam is based in Europe, the reason it is more expensive is because it is all a one piece shell which means no leaks and places for mold to grow etc unlike other campers that are pasted from separate pieces which would grow weaker over time due to rain and wear and tear. This means this camper will be a good investment which will hold its value for years or even decades because the frame itself will be durable and not have weather damage. I am not sure about power off grid but nowadays you can easily resolve that by buying huge mobile power stations. Way cheaper and works just as well IMO. Worst case you can also take down one of the cabinets and install a microwave if there is no option (but I think there will be tbh).
@Desperado324812 күн бұрын
First one of the reasons the Wingam costs more is that the cab and frame are assembled in Mexico, and then sent to Italy for assembly of the camper portion on the Dodge promaster cab and engine rather than the Fiat Ducato. They should have sent the camper portion to the US and assembled it on a US made Chrysler to avoid the $30 k import duty. A good design that will fail

As far as I'm concerned these vehicles are just rich man toys if they don't meet two key criteria: - Air conditioning. - Low price, no more than budget-priced regular cars. In other words, under $15,000. All of these are toys. And you failed to mention the one EV releasing in 2024 that does qualify.
@TechwowofficialАй бұрын
Hey, appreciate your take on this! Air conditioning and affordability are definitely important factors for many buyers. While some three-wheeled cars may cater more to luxury markets, they often pack in advanced technology, unique designs, and specialized features that cater to specific preferences and needs. It's all about finding the right balance between what you're getting and what you're paying. Also, I'd love to know more about the EV you mentioned for 2024 - got any details to share?
@nospamallowed4890Ай бұрын
The Nimbus One is an EV scheduled to release this year for around $10k or $200/month rent. I will likely get one. Also, the Áptera is very promising although it will be years before the inexpensive models are released and available to those that didn’t preorder.

"- Low price, no more than budget-priced regular cars. In other words, under $15,000." They make cars this cheap in 2024? I just bought a used Elantra Hybrid 28,000 miles 3 years old and that was still worth $18,000. I do agree that the vehicles listed here are toys however. They are 2nd or even 3rd vehicles that people would own. Maybe used as a commuter vehicle or a fun car to drive on the weekends. "Data from Kelley Blue Book puts the average cost of a new car at $48,008 as of March 2023." I would also disagree that a $30,000 car is a rich mans toy. People buying Corolla's and Elantra's etc. are not rich people. And those vehicle are not what I would consider to be a toy car.
@nospamallowed48902 күн бұрын
@@Fairburne69 I recently shopped for a brand new car. I found the Nissan Versa stick shift for about $15k (brand new) and it is a more reliable car than any Kia or Hiunday. I ended up buying the 2nd level trim of the Sentra (a car that I found just as well built as most 40-50k cars) for about $21k. And my initial goal was to buy an EV or failing that a PHEV... but from a financial perspective they could not compete with these ICEs. Also, either of these two Nissans is far superior to any of the reviewed "toy EVs" discussed. I still plan to buy a super-compact EV *with A/C* as my 2nd car eventually, but the price/value has to make it worth it. Or maybe an e-Trike as a hybrid for exercise and minor grocery shopping inside my community. As to a primary EV... it will likely be the Aptera or equivalent when it is time for a new primary car, probably in 10 years.
