Döner is Turkish they promote it like Gyros
@AlexMarkTravel2 күн бұрын
They don't promote anything, for them it's their centuries old traditional food, called gyro. In Turkey it's centuries old traditional food called döner. That's pretty much it. Anyway have you tried gyro?

@AlexMarkTravel2 күн бұрын
@@user-jy4xr3hr9u I noticed something was wrong with your statement. Yes, Ottomans brought their food to conquered countries but also copied the local food, so it's also not fair to say all the food is Turkish.
@user-jy4xr3hr9u2 күн бұрын
@@AlexMarkTravel fake, it was the non-Muslim local people who copied the Ottoman Empire, go see in Greece in Armenia in Israel in Bulgaria in Romania..., all the food are the same and each country says it's mine it's mine, no the truth it's the Muslim Ottoman Empire food
@AlexMarkTravel2 күн бұрын
@@user-jy4xr3hr9u As far as I know, not each country says it's mine. But it's a local version of that dish. Sarma in Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania is all different between them, there is always some difference. Plus in Serbia in sarma goes pork and beef, on top of them pork sausage and bacon. Sarma type of dish exists in China as well. What about Persia? They invented some foods, or they also copied everything from Ottomans? Kajmak which the whole Turkey eats is Serbian invention the original name is skorup. It' impossible that one nation invented all of foods. I never say that sarma is Serbian dish by origin, name is Turkish, but Serbian sarma is better then any other I tried. For example if you go to Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia especially 80% of food is pork based, so all these dishes that you call muslim stopped being muslim some 5 centuries ago. 😅Anyway cheers and relax a bit! 🍻

Gyro 100% Greek food. I ate it dozens of times in Greece. Baklava more widespread, many countries have it on different continents.

What pizza, there are plenty of pizza types and styles in America? But they don't have local Sicilian ingredients, which is what makes a huge difference.
