hothead makes the sprite flickering go through the roof, so much that mirror matches are almost unplayable and thus locked

If we play on the Nestopia emulator, then there is an option No sprite limit. And then a mirror match without flickering. We always play like this.

Sit down. Press "forward", "back", "Hand". Or you can even press "down + forward", "back + down", "hand" while standing. It should be a smooth connection. Practice, I'm sure you'll succeed.

The only Turtles game I didn’t own on the NES until the Cowabunga Collection. I didn’t remember the NES port for whatever reason. 8 bit fighting games were very different from the 16 bit era that took fighting games by storm. Karate Champ set the standard for the 8 bit generation while Street Fighter II set the standard for 16 bit. So don’t expect this game to play like it’s 16 bit counterparts. It plays like an 8 bit fighting game. I guess it’s late time of coming out make it forgotten. The last NES games I played before moving on to PC gaming were Kirby and Mighty Final Fight. Somehow I completely passed on this one. At least it has cutscenes like other games in the franchise.

This game is very underrated. Very good game. nes graphics almost 16bit alike. The background could pass for 16 bit. Strange how the old nes sometimes even surpasses gbc and neo geo pocket colour to my eyes.

Yes, the game came out at the end of the NES. But in the CIS they still play and hold online tournaments. From 2011 to 2021 activity was kept. Now it is slowly falling off.

@@gektorne this game is a underrated gem. everytime i look at these late nes releases i'm amazed. The so called 16bit neogeo pocket colour couldn't pull this off. Gbc hasn't got any fighter close to this. all newer tech. The only systems that rivaled the nes graphics wise where the master system and gamegear. The nes was pushed to it's absolute limits. be it with a few helper chips. It's still amazing to see games like this, zen intergalactic ninja and monster in my pocket running on a 1983 system. Mastersystem had 3 years in advantage. Name me a mastersystem fighter with these graphics??. i can't think of one. This game is like steven seagall with fighters. Seagall might look fat and weak, but can you name a fighter that's worthy of seagall??, he can't think of one.

Casey has two moves in this game. Hold down for a second, then up + attack. This is a clubbing. The second technique is a whirlwind. You need to press forward + down, then press back + down + attack.

Actually there is one more. When your opponent knocks you out and you immediately perform a whirlwind you become untouchable. As in no damage until you do the clubbing. Don’t think many know about this I discovered this by mistake.

Sim, a versão NES saiu no final da plataforma e teve pouca popularidade. Na Rússia, esse jogo foi muito popular nos anos 90.
