Rowan Mills Conservation area is the parking lot on the 3rd concession where the bridge is blocked. It's not too hard to go a couple more concessions upriver from there most of the time.

I felt that my wife was happy with our distance (upriver) and I didn't want to push it. Years ago I started at Norfolk County 60 Rd. Paddled all the way down to Cronmiller's. Then my buddy walked back to retrieve the car. Quite boring to wait for 2 hours.

Interesting, atleast now I know you can paddle that area... just not practise for a race. Been wanting to paddle that harbour, it always seems too windy though when I go to Cootes.

Great video. Can you tell me what channels to take on the Willow?
@TheOutdoorSeekerАй бұрын
I followed the most obvious channel that had some checkpoints from time to time. Even so I had to get out of the canoe and drag it thru some very shallow water. I checked Google maps on my cell to make sure I am going the right way. Water levels also varies.
@chriswisemanАй бұрын
@@TheOutdoorSeeker Thanks! What do you mean by checkpoints? Did you get a cell signal for the whole trip? I have heard cell coverage is spotty in there. Is there a way to take another route to avoid pulling your boat on land?
@TheOutdoorSeekerАй бұрын
Watch starting at 1:55, you will see what I mean. I load the Google map before getting in. It acts as a GPS afterwards. The marsh is no joke, I read about people getting out with the helicopter after getting lost. I went 2 times, and the routes were slightly different, be prepared to get out of the boat.

It is possible to accept that everyone has the right to visit the place they want but it is not possible to accept collaboration with a dictatorship that is killing the Cuban people. People full of needs in Cuba, and all because that murderous dictatorship steals the money that tourists bring and uses it to promote dictatorships in other countries and that lead to the impoverishment of entire societies. You must be ashamed to collaborate with them and at the same time lie when you say that you love Cuba and Cubans. That is a great shame because all that money, far from helping the Cuban people, is plunging them into slavery and poverty. Money used to buy means of repression and increase their personal accounts in other countries to guarantee only their future and that of their families while the people go to hell Open your consciences and stop traveling to Cuba until it is a free country, without political prisoners without repression , without hunger. The services, the food and the resorts are also in a very bad conditions specially the medical services. It will be terrible if you get sick overthere. DO NOT TRAVEL TO CUBA, FREEDOM FOR ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS IN THE PRISONS OF THE DICTATORSHIP. NO COMMUNISM. DOWN WITH THE CASTRO-CANEL DICTATORSHIP DON’T TRAVEL TO CUBA

Here is a review that I left on TripAdviser The beach in front of the hotel has disappeared due to erosion. You have to take a free shuttle to go to Sirena beach, the most beautiful beach in Cuba in my opinion. A beach comparable to Tahiti. The colour of the water is azure blue. The sand is so fine that you sink into it when walking on it. The food is no better than other hotels in Cuba. You have to bring food from Canada in your suitcases. At the hotel, most room or patio doors do not close or open. The hotel management is totally incompetent to resolve this recurring problem. Fortunately I managed to solve the problem with the front door myself by fixing the latch on the lock. But for the hotel, it's not a problem if your room door doesn't lock. Despite everything, we had a great vacation. Don't miss the catamaran excursion to Iguana Island and the starfish lagoon.

Snagging is illegal in Canada! I have fished for nearly 50 years and only ever accidently hooked a fish anywhere other than in the mouth 3 times. Once in the belly and twice in the side of the head. All 3 times this happened I could not see the fish. This situation the fish are in plain sight and were most likely snagged on purpose!
