Watching this now in 2024, and realizing that what is wrong with NASCAR now is, we don't have these tough folks with a bullshit mentality,

The bondy long stories are gold too! Especially the one with him going to the accountants office to pick up his 150$ expense check which was quite a bit of cash back then and sees a guitar at a pawn shop he likes and spends the whole damn thing on that guitar!!!😂😂 then Cale bails him out of a speeding ticket because he didn’t have 20 dollars on him!!! So few months go by and bondy leaves a 20 dollar sack of Pennie’s on cales porch to pay him back with😂😂 little stories like that are hilarious to me

This series is utterly wonderful. Try to imagine 20 years from now or even now and they gathered the next generation for a talk. It would be “we were playing this video game aaaand..”. boring. Too bad they didn’t give us the R rated get together. THANK YOU for this HISTORIC post.
@cool38657 ай бұрын
honestly they could do another one with the guys that ran during the 80s and 90s and it would still just be as good. in the 2000's is when it got all mandated

@@cool3865 id love to get a story out of Jeff Gordon about the first time he met his sponsor…Dupont. a lovely pairing. By the 90s the pilots were mostly married men who toted their families around,everything was much more regimented. poor southern boys were pretty much replaced with rich mens kids. beer cans and liquor bottles in hand were widely replaced with video game controllers lol.

I’m a 50 year nascar fan who has watched every video that every one of these men were involved in, thousands of hours on you tube, but always skipped this series. Why I have NO idea, I guarantee I’ll be rewatching this many times.

I love listening to all these legends. Red Farmer is living history. His stories are priceless. Red l would bet he has raced more laps in races car than any one. He would race anything, modified, late models, sportsman, go cart, NASCAR. He is the man !

All the NASCAR legends in one place. Very cool. I wish Richard Petty would have been there. I’m feeling old now. Barney Halls radio 📻 voice was awesome ,before racing was live on tv 📺. Brings back great memories with my childhood.

22:35 Amen! Spot on point that is even more relevant today! Daytona & Talladega are performance capped tracks, you just need to endure until 10 to go and hope you survive the final wreck that will happen. Nobody can do anything before that anyway to get an edge to win.
