That's the same way I did mine. I removed a 16x32 inground , steel walls vinyl liner, and put half of it back together in my basement. I used my chopper gun for the first 3 coats, then hand laid 1/4" woven cloth for the finish. It took like 25 gallons of vinyl ester resin and 2 gal of epoxy pool paint. I also put the ceramic 6 inch waterline tiles all the way around. It's been 12 years since and never had any issues. I live it.

What was the cost
@OneHeartMission22 күн бұрын
When I built it a few years back it cost about 13000 South African Rands. So about 1500 USD

Hey Dave how is your fiberglass pool holding up after a few years? I was researching building one similar. Thank you for the great content

Thank you Brian. I have since sold that house but when I've driven past, the pool still looks perfect!

1. She's an elite athlete competing for cash prizes. Her finish position entitled her to cash. She would have been possibly disqualified had that other runner helped her onto her feet. Kudos to the other guy for stopping him from offering her a hand. 2. Unfortunately she did not finish this year's Comrades marathon. She pulled out of the gruelling 87km race...way before reaching the finish.

A very clever solution! Will be interesting to see how it’s held up a year down the road.

This is awesome! Do you worry about the plywood rotting?
@OneHeartMissionАй бұрын
Hi Jason, thank you. I did coat the back of the plywood with bitumen to stop that, but I also think that if it does rot, just the fiberglass will still be strong enough.
@jasonmercado5834Ай бұрын
@@OneHeartMission yeah I think I’m just more concerned about carpenter ants and termites that would feed on the plywood. I think there may be a way to treat it however. In any case you did a great job on the pool. I’m already thinking of how to design mine. Good on you for showing us all how simple this could be!

Thank you. I just used normal stainless steel capheads. I've actually done a second one since this video and managed to cut the one bolt with a small grinder

Question how many feet above ground is it ? Or did you fill it on the back ?thinking of doing this but mine would have to be 15 inches above ground, also what are the cables for?
@OneHeartMission5 ай бұрын
It is about 20 inches above ground. I worked through the space left by every second board and filled the back. You can see the spaces at about 1:03 on the video. The wires are for strength. All the best. I would love to see pics if you do it😊

Could you tell me if it came up with code p0234 engine overboost condition malfunction, and did it go into limp mode. As I’m struggling to get to the bottom of the whooshing sound and drop in power. Thanks
@OneHeartMission5 ай бұрын
Hi Gareth, no, I never had any codes and no noticeable power loss. The main thing that I noticed was black smoke when I accelerated and the whistling noise. I have seen another video where it was the actual intercooler that had popped.
