I have been galloping at the Frank Garza School for some time now and i have nothing but POSITIVE things to say about this school ! Frank Garza is an excellent horse trainer and jockey instructor . He has plenty of riders out at the track to prove it . Not only that, a horse he trained from scratch is currently winning races non stop . The man is a true horsemen ! I actually boarded my horse at his track while i was riding there, my horse had started to colic and he saved his life ! Top trainers bring their injured horses there so that frank can help them get back into shape , and the results have been successful. Ive learned so much while being there and couldn't have obtained the knowledge and experience without him. For the people who have negative things to say , clearly you aren't cut out for this business . Mr. Garza will make you WORK ! clean stalls, help out with the horses, and will push you beyond your comfort zone! THAT IS HOW A REAL RIDER IS MADE! So if you're complaining about the way he runs his business, then you have NO BUSINESS being there. And as for Kevin Mangold , hes also taught me so much , helped out tremendously with all the students. No matter his track record, hes an excellent rider and has a lot of knowledge to offer new riders. Mr.Garza has gone above and beyond for me and i cant thank him enough !

I hear ya, Katie! You tell em! Both Kevin Mangold & Frank Garza are excellent jockey instructors who go beyond what they know to help any student who wants to learn how to become a jockey and to become successful once he/she graduates. I'm sorry to hear about your horse and am glad that he/she is doing great now. Best wishes to you, Katie and hope to see ya on the track someday. Go get em!

Great instructor who just loves those horrible "match races" out in the desert. You are lucky your poor horse was not clicked by Frank's inept "horsemanship". What a joke.

Wow. This is really starting to get ridiculous here. "It is my right and my responsibility to warn unsuspecting people about the unethical and immoral nature of this "trainer""....I wasn't aware that you had that kind of "right and responsibility" to do something like that! I can see that whomever you got your information from or whatever, you just have to let the world know just on how much you despise Frank's school. You have been warned to be careful, Gayle, more then once. I shall not warn you again....

"...Behind the scenes, away from discerning eyes there is a the dark, ugly side that's spoke of in hushed tones..." Yep. When he talks about the illegal and cruel match races in the desert, his eyes light up. It is my right and my responsibility to warn unsuspecting people about the unethical and immoral nature of this "trainer". Trust me: no one at the track actually making a living in the big leagues has much regard for his "jockey school".

As I said before, I only met Frank Garza while doing this shoot for my tv program. He was nice, respectful and informative to myself and my crew.

Gayle, I don't know who you are, or why you like to insult others for trying. You're negative comments towards Frank are embarrassing and it makes me sick. Shame on you! How can you have the nerve to say something like, "He hates women" when you clearly have no clue to who he is, or even how he is as an instructor, let alone a person. I was a student of his many years ago, and I have seen many young women who want in the horse racing industry, and they go to Frank's for help....plus, I wouldn't have gone to his school if that was the case!! If you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything...simple as that!!

As for you little man. Mr1ezrider... if it's so easy why did you fall off all the time and get so scared that you couldn't get on a horse beyond a jog? Also, if you would pay your bills, you wouldn't have to worry about people looking for you. True, you cannot stiff a guy in the racing industry and expect to move onto the next track without hearing about it. Lucky for you, you were too scared and incapable to get onto a track, so you'll never know how it feels. Frank always tells every new student that tthey will be evaluated and if they are not cutting it, they will be asked to leave. You knew it was coming. Congratulations, you cheated an old guy who agreed to teach you without payment. Then you bad-mouthed him on the internet. Spoken like a true troll. If we thought you had two nickels to rub together between you, we would sue you for it. You too Gayle. Shame on both of you. What have you done positive lately? Or can you only muster the energy to put people down?

h0rseracingfan I am warning the port unsuspecting kids who might think it okay to spend their money with Frank - go to the school in Kentucky, where you will get a real education. That, my dear, is POSITIVE.

Interesting reading how bad others are, coming from a person nobody has ever heard about! Gayle who? I suspect this is someone who tried to learn to ride but was too fat or too scared to continue. Frank's school has produced quite a few jockeys who have done well and he deserves commendation for his years of service to the racing community. Unfortunately, people like Gayle here, who are sour and turned out, have nothing but insults for others for trying. As for me, Kevin Mangold, I am anything but a trust fund baby. I grew up without parents with nothing to my name, which is the exact opposite of a trust fund baby. And I volunteer there, so "extra income" has nothing to do with anything. Perhaps some research should be considered before you try trashing someone's reputation. Be careful Gayle.

Again, I reference the 5% win percentage. Not exactly stellar. And I could outride you with my eyes closed. Apparently, top trainers thought so too, or you would have been on live mounts. Be careful? Just trying to make sure other unsuspecting kids get the real story so they can be careful and avoid the debacle.

Mr1ezrider, you are correct! The man is a total slimeball, of the lowest kind. AND he is not even a decent trainer. "Genius"? Did Frank tell him to say that? "not a hall of famer" is an understatement. He hates women and he has no idea how to care for a horse, or how to tell ANYONE how to ride. How pathetic that Kevin Mangold, a shameless trust fund baby who has no need of extra income, feels compelled to speak as if his 5% win record constituted a career as a rider.
