I have taken the Amtrak from Houston to Chicago. First you take the bus from the station to Longview, Texas and catch the train there to Chicago. I think it is the Eagle 22.

I took the Amtrak train from Houston Texas to Chicago. Had to take a bus from the train station to Longview, TX. Then get on the amtrak train Eagle 22 to Chicago. We had many delays. But still an experience, I would do it again.
