I don’t know anything about these… but if I had them I think I would try textured paper first and approach it like an oil pastel drawing. They look like they would be great for impressionist work. I’m also curious about how long those last.
@diana-lisa3 күн бұрын
Great idea! I will try watercolor paper. My further experiments have led me to like a sandwich of sorts. Neocolor 1 then Neocolor 2 washed out, and Neocolor 1 on top again. Thanks for watching :)
@MichelleMouldArtist3 күн бұрын
@AuloriasArt I've had mine for years but don't use daily. They do layer over most things - neo color 2 that is.
@MichelleMouldArtist5 күн бұрын
I love the neo color 2 which i layer and love that they are also water soluble. I did think about buying neo color 1 but it would only end up as wax resist i think or final layer of a painting which i can do with neo color 2 . Will wait to see if you find more benefits to neo color 1 before investing i think.
@diana-lisa4 күн бұрын
Yes my first love is Neocolor 2s Neocolor 1s could also act as a base layer similar to a posca layer or acrylic layer
@MichelleMouldArtist4 күн бұрын
@@diana-lisa it might be difficult to go over the top of the wax?
@diana-lisa3 күн бұрын
@MichelleMouldArtist I don’t find that was the case I was able to go back over the ones with the twos
@MichelleMouldArtist3 күн бұрын
@@diana-lisa That's good to know. I guess because they are both pastel types.
@hildybean5 күн бұрын
I love how the Neocolor I lay down, and also how they layer. I use them on their own, or as a final layer over watercolor or colored pencil.
@diana-lisa4 күн бұрын
I’m going to try them as a base layer similar to how I have used poscas as a base layer Going to try that today

Hi DL, lovely video of you showing your space. I love how you have maximised the space. Love how neat everything is in beautiful boxes and tins. I don’t have an art studio as such, I use some space in my living room, I have a IKEA tall drawer unit that houses all all my paper and sketchbooks and tubes of paint, a cabinet under my tv has my tins of paints, my Sendak which has my favourite pencils in and all my other pencil cases and books. I do need to organise a bit better my art collection. I love love how you have made your space, thankyou for sharing xxx

Love seeing how other artists organize their Sendak rolls! Only because you expressed interest in pronunciation, en is pronounced “on” and plein is pronounced “plen” rather than plane. Not that it really matters. We know what you mean.

All is wonderful, but you have to treat the fountain pen as the fine and sofisticated tool, in order to function. Please try to squeeze the cartridge with the green ink, allow it to spill few drops of green ink, in order to have the green ink washing out the previous ink colour. In order to try the fountain pen, try just drawing the line in one direction, or try to write. Scribles in all directions are hurting the fountain pen and obstructing the ink flow. Best wishes 🙂

tysm for making this!! im trying to find out sketchbooks for my first SERIOUS sketchbook (where i try to finish, all the others i just dipped.) and i found beechmore a decent option as I'm mostly a muji pen kinda person, and i love how it can come in red and minimalistic, so I found that pretty cool but i will keep this in mind and keep scouting for other options!
@diana-lisaАй бұрын
I did not find that it would be in my favorites I would still go with Moleskine Art, Ranger Dylusions and also Stillman and Burns cream paper softbound Nova series I think What is your current favorite?
@georbeАй бұрын
@@diana-lisa sorry for the late reply! but i haven't really used many sketchbooks from brands as most of them are homemade. but my most recent one is by leda art supply and its pretty good. will check out the stuff you recommended though, thank you!!
@jand9770Ай бұрын
I would recommend for creator of "to go sketch bag" to make bag at least 2in wider, 2inch deeper for easier fit for small sketchbook. Also add an inch or so to bungee cord, so it will lay completely flat when you want it to.
@diana-lisaАй бұрын
Those recommendations would make it even more user friendly. Thank you so much for watching
@mgeiser6951Ай бұрын
Ian, the creator, does already make two larger sizes - a medium and a large. Diana chose to purchase the small size. The small and medium both open to lay flat if desired.

Oh Michelle, thank you so much for showing us your style and what you do. I’m the person that inquired to know. It was so fun to your techniques. I am really surprised by the amount of layers you actually used. Plus the amount of mixed media! I have the neo colors and faber castell markers that you have. But I don’t have the graphitints or inktense pencils. I do have faber castell albrecht durer watercolor pencils and caran dache watercolor pencils. I think they would act similarly. Your picture turned out beautiful! I’m anxious to try to use mine and do some practicing. Again, thank you so much!
