I think it’s disgusting being refused an operation because you smoke. I’ve been smoking since I was 11 ( yes yes blah blah blah ) over the years I’ve had operations with zero problems. I recently had septorhinoplasty again zero problems. But today was refused my breast reduction unless I’ve been cigarette free for at least 6 months !!! Takes the piss… but go and ask for a sex change and you’ll get pampered all the way. 😡

This is just taking common sense behavior and applying a bunch of academic language to it in order to make it a rule. This always ends in White people beating themselves up and treating poc like simpletons.

Beautiful presentation. Easy to understand. I love how it said that we do not need to be experts in all cultures in order to practice cultural sensitivity and to remember to self-reflect on our own bias. I hope more fellow Canadians view this video :) Well done Indigenous Health.

I was on Suboxone for 2 years but I still had cravings. I ended getting into a cycle of relapse and going back to the Suboxone over and over. I went to treatment. Got about 4 months clean, I usually get around 6 months when I relapse this time I tried methadone instead. I wish to god I tried this 10 years sooner I truly believe I would have 10 years clean now if I would have. I haven’t relapsed in 2 years. I’m doing better than I ever have. I’m healthier than I’ve ever been. I wish we could get methadone from a private doctor! I think it’s silly to make someone go to a methadone clinic after they have had years clean if u can get Suboxone from a private doctor why not methadone?????? I don’t plan on ever getting off of the methadone. So what’s going to happen when I’m elderly and still on methadone am I going to be hobbling my geriatric ass into the clinic every week?? That’s ridiculous.

Dear Northen Health BC Hello first of all I apologise for my English that's not quite good and I hope you understand what I mean, however I'm a addicted and I'm from Iran I've taken Methadone for two years then I saw your videos on KZfaq and now I will be appreciate you if you send me one photo of the Methadone bottle that you use it in your clinic because I want to show it to my doctor to see if there is a big difference between methadone used in Iran and Canada Because I saw in one of your videos that one of the practitioner of your clinic said that the new methadone we use is ten times more stronger than the previous methadone. This issue is of great importance to me. I will be extremely grateful if just a photo. send me your methadone Best wishes an addicted from Iran

As someone who uses meth for their eating disorder I feel we get treated differently and i get a vibe non-drug users look at us, won’t let us stay home alone, wants door open and also no going out by yourself due to safety concerns, installs cameras the weeks after they find out
