jackhammer is one of the best designed weapons in all of gaming history, since its both better and worse than regular shotguns in multiple different ways, making it so theres no actually best load out I personally like going with sawed on as my only jackhammer, although I might go with over pump as the only jackhammer since now I know its a red explosion

I like to use core eject jackhammer and have the others as shotguns so I can still have shotgun swapping if I just use e and q which is admittedly hard to learn but it gives you so many more options.

idk i find it easier to nuke using the alt jack hammer for the core eject and normal shtguns for the rest

the only jackhammer thats worth it is the pumpaction jackhammer. The nuking option for the core eject is just too valuable and for the chainsaw just do whatever you want.

Weirdly I use normal core and pump with alt saw just because I like to get virtue 1-shot and maurice insta while also having the jackhammer to deal with mindflayer. the saw really is just extra damage.

Now with the new keys to let us select specific variations, you can easily weild all 3 variations of any weapon and keep shotgun swapping, even if you only have one shotgun.

I know I'm about a month late to this, but I recently figured out it is not that hard to boost swap with just one shotgun. I do this by doing shoot>punch>next variant>previous variant(default LMB>F>E>Q) in quick succession but you can also go to settings and bind a button to whatever variant you have with the shotgun and press that instead of swapping next, this has allowed me to keep dual jackhammers in my other slots for extra punch, while retaining the most important shotgun tech, best of both worlds I think

Hammer time

not really "tech" but you can reposition your camera during the long frame freeze when hitting an enemy at full speed with the hammer. You can launch yourself up into safety and snipe some enemies as you fall, it's very useful!

ive been experimenting with all jackhammer, and its actually pretty good if you dont mind risking core tech. but you can do plenty with all jackhammer. make a huge explosion with the freezeframe, deal high amounts of damage, and... well whatever the sawed-on does. you can jackhammer it a bit, and them detach it with the knuckleblaster

I’m insane. I love runnin alt core and alt sawed, but keep standard pump. With rocket core snipes and overcharging, area clearance isn’t too big of an issue for me

better use: shotgun core eject/ alt core eject (no matter which will you use) alternate pump and shutgun sawed-off

i use pumpcharge bc it feels easier to projectile boost and normal core eject (i cant play act 1 since i play the demo only)

The projectile boosting is the one thing keepingme from going all Jack hammers. I have the blue and green on the hammer but the red (the one ive stuck on) stays just cause i need that dopamine and reliability of the boost. Im getting closer to switching them every day though
