@@thedistanthorizon My idea of the Machaka mid game is something like fatigue plays using Rigor Mortis with wight mages, bouda elf raiding, fun thug game if you can find a chassis using your cheap forging, bane fire against enemy thugs, and mass pygmy fire arrows if the situation calls for it. Maybe there's a world where Rhino clan don't suck if buffed with enough magic but I haven't found it yet.

They definitely have that 1 shot potential!

@@thedistanthorizon I think it's what you alluded to in your asphodel series. They thought they were in a coalition fight and so didn't want to commit more leadership and mages if they didn't have to.

@@thedistanthorizon It absolutely should have been! It's one of the few things that makes defending against early coalitions remotely possible. The psychology of greed and risk aversion. Few people want to be the one coalition member to do all the fighting, and nobody wants to lose tempo by committing more than the bare minimum of mages.

It really was crucial! The only way they don't help in this situation is other teams deciding to vulture us when they see army graphs fall

It should have been so much worse for me yes. I suspect he didn't want to spend cap turns making more priests though, and disciples can't have prophets so that was the reason for the lack of blessing. It's why I don't super like early wars before you get a second fort down.

My suspicion is it's because these are level 3 thrones, but even with that consideration I was shocked as well since the power spike of taking level 3 thrones is fantastic.

Would be kind of fun to roll back to old patches and go through different versions some day haha Not sure how easy it is to do that though or if we would have needed to proactively save different versions of the game.

My feeling was they needed to be persuaded. They certainly could have put us out of the game though False God was inclined to focus against them instead of Fomoria given the option so I don't think it would have been easy especially for Niefelheim who didn't have the same magic weapon access of Muspelheim. I was inclined to focus on fighting Hinnom and Fomoria, but I didn't have the drakon.

Thank you sir! There's some really interesting dynamics going on in this faction especially in relation to dominion control with blood sac and heretics. I used a stronger dominion push here so I could try to fight in friendly dominion as much as possible, but you it's pretty viable I think to play in other ways. In a low dom build to maximize demon output you can opt for fewer unforted temples that won't be destroyed by the events iirc from dom 5. This frees you up to heretic away in your forts and keep their dominion low. This may be a build where an expensive titan or monster works well since the forts will lose population to the demon gates. I think it's also completely viable to ignore their sacreds, or do imprisoned scales where you rely on massive armies of stuff to get the job done especially with massed crossbows, freespawn, and skelle spam communions. I haven't found a great way to use the sacreds yet, but they can certainly support a high dom build pumping them out like you mentioned.
