I think I have a cool idea: *Arcane Season 2* is about to drop so I think people would find the thought process interesting when looking at how artists take *architectural genre* to tell a story with World Building - Subconsciously Gothic means something, Victorian, Art Deco, Industrial, Brutalist. We can convey emotion, character & story in the sense of place; I think that's a cool jumping off point based on your channel. I feel like people want to learn but they also want a pop culture entry point so that even if they don't follow along, understanding the artists adds value to them.

Nice artwork but I would never describe it as hand made. All the geometric shapes and sharp edges scream computer made

How the hell do you start drawing on this nonsense. Like I’m about to return this dumb as tablet. Why do I have to connect to a computer just to draw. This is such a stupid design

I think it is missed that entergallatic used a painter's style or paint strokes and the story itself is told through the eyes of a painter himself as he is not just a comic creator but an artist in his own right... my thought

If you have interest in liminal spaces then you should watch a movie Vivarium. I am from Pakistan and i have deep interest in liminal spaces and reason i found psychologically behind this interest is that being a 90s kid who gre up in 90s when technology was very limited in our lives and my siblings were not married amd far away, my cousins were always visiting for watch movies etc who are now not in touch with us. It all created an interest in nostalgia. Feels like the current time line have no sense for me because i don't feel connected to it. So, liminal spaces puts me in a psychological, aesthetic position where i feel comforter but creepy as well

This was an amazing video about the world of LIS. These games are my favorites. They have such a special place in my heart. As an artist, I enjoyed the look at the art of the games. I have made so many great friends through these games and I am also close to Deck Nine in Colorado, too. Dontnod and Deck Nine have been super caring about their fan base, I have even gotten recognition by Dontnod for an acrylic painting I did of Arcadia Bay. Thanks for a great video Daniel.

Oh man, I found this while looking for craft analysis of Entergalactic after I'd finally watched it... now I see you've done a video on Hilda too! Which in my opinion has possibly the best use of colour theory and quantised gradients in any cartoon. (Steven Universe's use of colour is amazing and its pencil-looking landscapes are great, but Hilda's day and night changes take the cake IMO.) Subscribed right away :) I'm going to send this and the Hilda video to my CG and 2D artist pals!

If it loads too long for you then It's better to go into Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts then apply a hot key for application menus to View>Flip Horizontal. Night and day compared to the video.

i love ur videos especially this one. it was seriously such a breath of fresh air. as someone struggling with environment pieces but "mastered" character portraits (opposite of you), i felt relief knowing other artists also find certain areas challenging and aren't masters of all (if you get what i mean), especially after ive recently been bombarded looking at too good of pieces to the point i felt discouraged. anyways thanks again man!!! finding ur channel was like a struck of gold. keep it up!

Better way of doing this, Click on top right of actions tab and select "Insert menu item" then select to View>Flip Horizontal. That way it doesn't record the actual flipping of the canvas in the undo history so you can flip and paint using undo without a headache.

What is the name for the thing that's not quite a *LIMINAL* space, but like... it's that behind the scenes lookin thing where like... you're seeing inside of a void that just has a few objects all placed very deliberately together... as if you're in a space that was set up as a collection of entities available for use in the area for a game? I once had a dream where like... I had that POV as I was crawling through a vent and found myself talking to a cat that I knew quite well within the context of the dream (the cat talked back) I recall seeing a roadside lamp-post that was shining down overtop 5 barrels, they were low detail as if they were LOD models that weren't loading into the close range variants...

Informative but, dude, if you're going to use the cursor as a pointing tool as well as a function selection tool during the "tutorial", please observe what I call "hyper-wandering-cursor" that happens when the inflections in speaking and emphasis translate into animated hands and your mouse movements. Years ago, someone passed this tip along to me in my aviation-related cockpit training videos and my viewers really appreciated the improvement. It's been demonstrated that every move of the cursor the viewer is follows for learning, must move only for logical reasons. This is critical for two reasons. One, obviously, is to convey the intended point but secondly and just as important it's to not confuse or frustrate viewers when the cursor "wanders" without purpose. The latter comes because the viewer still follows the "wandering-cursor" all over the place regardless. This phenomenon is so bad in some videos that I just want to step on moving pointer as if it were a roach. 🙂 Personally, in my tutorial work, I like to take my hand off the mouse momentarily to "freeze" the pointer in position of the last point of interest. This issue is also resolved by the nature of, and, in using a stylus-type pointing device (by accomplished users of that type device). You have great work and this tip, as I learned, will propel you up a notch on the professional ladder and your viewers will finish the video feeling better about it, not needing to clean roach spray off the monitor. Best regards and thanks again for sharing. Take care.
