It’s funny you ask. I’ve always thought the 5th wheel was the way to go. I’ve actually got a larger 6 pad hydraulic trailer, which has a 5th wheel connection. Most of the hauls with the hydraulic trailer are designed to be offloaded without a lift. Making you set the boat back much further than you would anticipate, making room for a boat stand underneath the stern of the boat. Thus taking tongue weight off the trailer. Making the front of the trailer actually lighter you loose the general purpose of a 5th wheel trailer. It will add additional weight to the overall Gvw and you can’t articulate the front of the trailer nearly as much as you can achieve with a pintle. The trailer is typically towed with a tractor tow unit. This specific boat was going 1 mile down the road from the ramp and required 4 wheel drive to get into the delivery spot. Otherwise the truck “could” tow it further. However a semi truck is much nicer to drive with so much weight behind it. The hitch on this dodge is a custom built class 6 hitch. It’s been reinforced significantly to take the load of this trailer. The trailer in video is also air ride suspension. You hardly even know it’s there while towing. Thanks for watching!

@@caseyonsgaard that makes sense to me ,thanks I should of picked up on that myself but you are correct my guy does load that way honestly on most of my other hauls I have a tendency to load heavier than normal tounge weights because it makes my truck ride like a Caddilac on the longer rides , my best freind caught me filling water tanks on my Airstream located in the front of the Trailer and asked me why was I doing that most people keep them empty but he laughed at my reason BTW he tows with a 2500 and I with a 3500 Dually , all E rated tires sometimes on late nite trips my family gets concerned about me dozing off at the wheel and I reassure them that the way roads are maintained I am sometimes thankful my seat belt stops my head from bouncing into the roof and I don’t think I could fall asleep if I tried in those conditions ? My next Truck is going to have better seats for my Honey / Copilot so she can try to nap on long trips because my bench seat setup bounces her around way more than my Fat ass LOL she has tried laying down in the backseat and that doesn’t work ?
