Nicely trail ridden. Trail riding isn't a race and you got round safely, at decent speed and with no falls. Although enduro bikes are allowed on the TRF trail it is still a trail, not an enduro practice track!

Just watched xcx, the KZfaq algorithm popped your post, which I thoroughly enjoyed 👍 and I even remembered your name from a comment you left on xcx. Wicked ride with all the tech-e bits, top marks 👍👍👍👍

It was good fun, although I had quite aggressive tyres on my Tiger (Mitas XT+) which help with confidence. I'm not really a fan of off-camber grass, but thankfully it was dry.

Sorry, I was just tagging along. If you look at a few of the Facebook groups, you can normally find a ride to tag along to (e.g. Big Bike Off Road).

I think ABR encourages people that havent been off-road before in a safe environment, so for first timers I'm sure it was intense.

@@rainbow-walker I was quite challenging for people new to off road on big heavy bikes.. The bog (which this guy skipped, probably wisely!) was very hard, and I actually changed the sign just before to to indicate it was "V Hard" on Saturday, as so many bikes were getting stuck. Was fine-ish on Thursday but became a muddy (fun) hell hole by Friday lunch time. It took some skills to get through most of the bog on bikes that are not enduro bikes, and often with hybrid tyres. The exit of the water splash (after the downhill past the "bog of doom") on this video where RainbowWalker went right took out a lot of the bigger bikes, was slippery as ice. Fair play to everyone that did the TRF course. It's supposed to be more challenging than the main loop so that the Enduro riders have somewhere to play away from the big trail, and also offers a more robust challenge to the ADV riders. The video does not capture the steepness of some of the climbs, nor the near vertical drops.

I enjoyed both trails, did the TRF trail Saturday, got through the boggy bit just about but didnt do it the second time (too chicken), fair play to some of the big bike riders they can handle them, at my level I can make any trail difficult by upping my speed.... even managed to get around the corner where Chris Birch binned his KTM... he might have been going a little bit faster.. and that big dip/climb on the Bridgestone trail was totally different on Saturday... massive rut in it, nearly pooped myself.. I hate ruts 😅

Via Gellia A5012 at the start. left at Grangemill B5056 then right after 200m towards Aldwark. turn left at the T away from aldark. 1km. Turn right at next T and 300 m on left is the first lane. It runs past Minniglow. Approx 5-6km. crossing a few bits of road. goes west to to the A515 near Biggin. They hit that at 14:12 ish.

@@rainbow-walker Thought so, they looked familiar! I use to ride them years ago with a bunch of lads, I had a Suzuki 400 drz-e at the time, I’d forgotten them all now as it’s been years, I ride a Honda Varadero XL 1000 and don’t mind doing light green lane stuff, although it is heavy I have good experience from riding those trails all the time on an enduro bike, we use to do the three shires head too, I loved it.

@@riptarn I did the three shires on the Tiger, and its probably at the more technical end of what I want to do on the Tiger 900 ! (there are a couple of recordings from my innovv fixed camera in my videos of the 3 shires, including a comedy drop at the bottom)

Good day out. Great footage. I have just started taking my 1200 Tiger Rally Pro off road and I am very impressed with it especially the standard Karoo tyres. I also have a Beta 390 RR for the trails but I prefer the Tiger, it seems to just cruise over the rough stuff making it much simpler. I am thinking about getting a more trail focused tyre.
@rainbow-walker
@rainbow-walker Жыл бұрын
They do have amazing suspension, and means you can travel a couple of hours there and back without a van. I slightly prefer the 1200 over the 900 off road as like the feel of it, and was lucky enough to be asked to do a short promo film about their adventure centre (they use Anakee Adventures on theirs, and seem to work well, I'm currently on Karoo 4's). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mdOmm7tjzZ66dHk.html

@@rainbow-walker Great vid! I've just switched from Karoo Street to Anakee Wilds on my 1200 Stelvio NTX.. I fancied the Karoo 4's but nobody had stocks of the 19 inch front yet. Is there a noob friendly group round these parts? Would the TRF be a valid place to start with a larger bike?
@rainbow-walker
@rainbow-walker Жыл бұрын
@@CavalierNTX Anakee wilds are on my list to try ! I found my local TRF werent really a big bike group but have heard different from other areas. I found a few adventure bike groups and trusted people on facebook that advertise ride outs on forums like the Africa Twin UK forum, also there is quite an active Peak district forum. If your relatively local let me know, and I'll message you when Im next out !

Looks like a nice day out.. 👏 maybe an advice on video quality if you don’t mind.. KZfaq quality is rubbish for smaller channels like ours so to bypass this issue you can render the final video into a 4k before uploading. You can still shoot in 720 or 1080 but render a 4k just for YT. You’ll see the quality will be much better. Best J.

Thanks, will try that, only just got the GoPro so all advice helpful.
@JRidesRally

@@rainbow-walker yea you’ll see. Do lots of tests. I used to shoot lower res but now I shoot 4k and quality is great even after KZfaq mocks it. Then I just delete all the footage but keep the final films backed up. It’s not too bad space-wise like that.
