Just got home with my Typhon 6S about 2 hours ago... Went right for the 6S or the gate. Now, I started RC 38 years ago with brushed buggies strictly, but switched to monster trucks and eventually brushless monster trucks, so this it's my first buggy in a very long time and first brushless buggy ever... Holy hell it's insane. I need to find a large field immediately as my street and community common area is nowhere near large enough. I love it.

Same story here I had the Frog then the Clodbuster. I got back into the hobby with monster trucks and truggies. Then I looked at the old Frog and was like damn I dont have a buggy and bought this. It is a beast on 6s check out my review video I was shooting rooster tails across a field lol. Even on 4s it has a ton of power. I am thrilled with it. If you ever want a buggy that can handle rougher terrain and is larger check out the Team Corraly Asuga its wild! I have some vids on it as well. Thank you for watching and the comment

i enjoy your vids and reviews - dont let the negative comments stop you from having fun! love my xmaxx and XRT you are correct about the body-and the electronics do suck. wish traxxas would upgrade the reciever, esc and servo. the servo is under powered and the ears tabs brake off way to easily, the reciever should be capible of 7.4v at least, and the ESC needs to be progammable and able to turn off with the button. The gears are horrible too, the spur and pinion pressed metal is too week- mine broke after my first set of packs and no mods and wasnt catching any air..they both stripped under normal throttle, replaced them and havent had an issue since i use surgical tubing to keep my body from coming off and drilled holes in the battery tray supports for pins like the XRT to keep the batteries from yardsaling. Xmaxx is the one of the most durable RC's out with just a few cheap easy mods. Keep the vids coming!

Loved ur review man! And i agree; even though i havent seen or driven a SLN. I have 2 original Lasernuts; properly shimmed and i’m running the same electronics as this; geared for 4s and they rip and take a beating. With the new TLR 8ight stuff out; Losi should have made a 1/8, 4s on the TLR platform; not take a 1/8, 4S drivetrain put it in a huge car and then put under powered electronics! On the original, the pivoting body works so well! They could have made the original a new legend…….but they didnt!

I doubt they will ever fix the body problem. The Xmaxx has been around forever so if they were going to fix it that would have happened already. I am hoping that maybe they will go to the XRT style clipless attachment system and will hopefully improve the reinforcement at the rear with the change in mounting. With my next body I am going to add some plastic styrene sheet the the underside of the rear where it folds under with a rear impact.

I noticed that each time you launched it you threw it up at an angle and the plane then dipped badly and nearly hit the ground. This is because in Normal mode the gyro is detecting the plane is climbing but the elevator control is probably set to its mid position so the gyro tries to bring it back to level flight by applying down elevator, hence the dip. If you throw it horizontally it will go direct into straight and level flight without the dip until you change the stick positions. Good beginner model - I’m thinking of buying one before they disappear from the marketplace - they’re already out of stock at most suppliers here in the UK.

I have flown this plane many times since this I have a video on the channel on how to adjust the trim its something that is not in the manual as long as you turn it on and its flat that is what sets the gyro not the launch. I dont think it lacks power at all running it on the ground its a handful its all over lol. It could use a gyro. I guess people want it to wheelie or something I dont get the 8s stuff just like the Sledge so many saying its under powered I dont get where that comes from. This is another great ground pounder people want to make into a big air rc and as long as that chassis is there is not enough bracing for that its not designed to jump. I do not think the wheels or shocks would handle much of that its a ground racer thats what it is designed to do. Thank you for watching and the support.

I’d check your gear mesh in the diffs. Unfortunately it looks like they run on the tighter side, and that’s obviously going to cause more resistance and build up heat. The drivelines probably aren’t in phase either. Razer RC noticed it, and after I pulled the shims, fixed the drivelines and redid the motor mesh it rolls so much more freely. Yea, you gotta tear it all apart but if you want 4s and possibly avoid the fan battle I’d say give it a rip 🤷🏼‍♂️

I know it's advertised as 4s and can handle it for a bit but with the threat of thermaling, really for a 10th sale, do you really need more than 3s? I understand some people would say "yes" to that but that's just not me. IMO 3s 1/10 is plenty fast and it's easier on the electronics so all good there. Also on a side note, while I don't mind clipless, a lot of times that locks you into a certain body & is periptery which isn't cool so I don't mind tethered clips.
@XWXW-lk4jf
@XWXW-lk4jf Күн бұрын
This should not have any issues handling 4s over the long term. I know I just literally did multiple speeds runs with the MT version after having already spent 2 hours driving through the trails early this morning and it never got hotter than 93 degrees. It hit speeds ranging between 58 mph and 60 mph which astonished me. This is a very strong esc/motor combination. 4s is by no means going to cause it any harm. I believe the motor is actually 6s capable if I am not mistaken. You'd be more at risk overhearing a Traxxas Maxx or Kraton 4s than you would this. I am beyond impressed with this vechile. It drives very similar to the 6s Big Rock in fact, only better. Literally better in that it is just as stable but more nimble and faster when comparing both on the stock pinion. Before this, my favorite release had been the 6s BigRock which I do like better than the Kraton exb due partly to the amazing stability. Once you get a decent receiver in there, this is just as stable. It checks every box for me. Good protection from debris, excellent throttle control, which means unlike vechiles like the Maxx/Slash, it is geared properly out of the box. I used to think Spektrum 6s esc was smooth until sampling this. I am extremely tempted to upgrade at least one of my 6s Arrma's to a Hobbywing. It is also built as tough as the Maxx from what I can tell. The Maxx is another terrific vechile but at the moment this is my favorite. Only time will tell. The Maxx has been my toughest vechile to date. In the past 1.3 years only issue has been a pin coming out of the back tire. Hopefully this will be as tough but we'll see. I dont drive any of my Arrmas nearly as hard as the Maxx mainly because while they handle better, if they took the same hits the Maxx has taken they'd be in pieces right now. Also, the constant need to service the differentials on Arrma 6s vechiles is extremely annoying. If you dont, they drive like shit. I dont think this here Valkyrie will require as much attention but again we will see.
@XWXW-lk4jf
@XWXW-lk4jf Күн бұрын
Also, the differential gears in the Valkyrie vechiles are massive. About twice as thick as what is in 1/8th and 1/7th scale 6s Arrma vechiles. They can handle 4s easily as well as 6s. No need to run this on 3s.

I love and hate that you guys use GPS to measure the stuff. But I extremely hate how everyone believes GPS is so accurate when it is so very not! These days you can have extremely accurate readings. But you need to understand that independent systems do not have a long term correction memory and no update system. So accuracy is down to 1 to 15 meters at best. And your runs are barely over 15-30m. So yeah every five minutes you might get a completely different reading. GPS is a long distance tracker. In real vehicles we run a minimum of a mile one way. You can not change directions or even turn more than 30 degrees or you reading will be wrong.
